Ok, I thought I’d give these AI songwriting tools a try. I entered an old song lyric “Did You Get What You Want” (a song I recorded with Andrew Gold in 2004) in Suno. It took less than a minute to generate the track. I uploaded the file to my DAW and rearranged it a bit. That took about another 10 minutes. Pretty amazing stuff and the new song is as catchy as my original. https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14800254Did You Get What You Want (Verse 1) I can’t get you off my mind it hurts so much The way you treat me, it makes life so rough Look what you’re doing Who are you fooling Oh no, not me (Verse 2) We’ve known each other for so many years We laughed a lot and we shed many tears Is there nothing that we can mend Something that has to end Just wait and see (Pre-chorus) Where’s the guiding light To my destiny Where’s the guiding light Where’s it leading me Where’s the guiding light Guide us to the place where we should be (Chorus) Did you get what you want Did you find what you’re looking for Can’t you see that you’re playing A game you can’t win and now you’re losing me Did you get what you want Did you find what you’re looking for Can’t you see that you live In a world that’s for real And now our dreams are gone So did you get what you want (Verse 3) You only met this guy the other day I never thought that you would go astray What are you doing Who are you fooling Well no not me (Verse 4) He’s using you in such an obvious way You know his love is gonna fade away Look what he’s doing Who is he fooling No, not me (Pre-chorus) Where’s the guiding light To my destiny Where’s the guiding light Where’s it leading me Where’s the guiding light Guide us to the place where we should be (Chorus) Did you get what you want Did you find what you’re looking for Can’t you see that you’re playing A game you can’t win and now you’re losing me Did you get what you want Did you find what you’re looking for Can’t you see that you live In a world that’s for real And now our dreams are gone So did you get what you want (Verse) He’s using you in such an obvious way You know his love is gonna fade away Look what he’s doing Who is he fooling No, not me (Chorus) Did you get what you want Did you find what you’re looking for Can’t you see that you’re playing A game you can’t win and now you’re losing me Did you get what you want Did you find what you’re looking for Can’t you see that you live In a world that’s for real And now our dreams are gone So did you get what you want

Weak lyrics,
Where's my guiding light is pretty good, should probably be your title
The rest is econobuy.
You jump in my threads and criticize, you don't realize that what the lyric is saying triggers the music.
Your not understanding what fire needs to be in the song before you do it
It's not just typing any dumb lyric.
But I suspect you haven't tried this till now or probably have with bad results.
It's because you think you can hide the lyric, but without interesting lyrics, there's no interest
Everything I've done is better
Do whatever it is you do, this will never be good without good lyrics and interesting ideas

These lyrics have been played on radio stations around the world. On some stations the original song (with the exact same lyrics) made it on their hot rotation list and it got played 6x per day.

alot of shite gets played on radio . sometimes the production ir singer carries it.
But your posting on a Songwriter site asking if this is any good. it's equal to every below mediocre song there is, lyrically and musically.
Doesn't really matter how you did it.
And I have to admit, I'm not entirely convinced this was on radio...
Like internet radio with 5 listeners?

Internet radio, haha! Nope, these were big radio stations. Fdem, you can't win them all and be right all the time. Andrew Gold ( Thank You For Being A Friend, Lonely Boy, Never Let Her Slip Away, etc.) thought my demo was so good that he invited me to his studio in L.A. and we recorded it together. But... not this AI version, my original with the same lyrics and my music composition.

Hey Rob....here's a little reality....some people can't get their relatives to listen to their songs...you got one of the great record producers to listen to and..wait for it...RECORDED THE SONG WITH YOU....then it got air play....impressive stuff You're just trying out AI You see, Rob, songwriters know who Andrew Gold was.. Thanks Steve. Like most songwriters here you know who Andrew was. Fdem has probably never heard of him before. And he claims he's a songwriter.

I know who he is, not sure what it has to do with you
Hey I was offered a record contract when I was 20 years old, tiny label, I recorded tracks with Tommy James producer , i did tracks with master musicians, had the bass player who worked with David Byrne.
I had a piano player who worked with chaka khan
New Jersey is very tight nit, I've recorded in dinky studios that Springsteen has been in, see his picture on the walls.
Here's the bigger reality, none if it means shite.

In one of his posts Gavin suggested that we not feed the troll. I think that he was on to something.
This morning when I looked at the latest ramblings, the viewers in GEN DISCUSSION and MP3 were both under 100. 80s and 90s. That is the lowest that I can remember seeing. MP3 bumped up to 106 when you and Dom started exchanging insults.
My suggestion: Let Dom have it. If the admins and Brian are going to let Dom take over the site, then let it be Dom's exclusively. Let's see where the viewership goes at JPDOM.com

Rob,
It's very pop sounding and on par with a lot of what I used to hear on the radio (back when I still wasted my time listening to it). It's a catchy chorus and cool beat that will resonate with a lot of listeners. Not exactly my genre, but it works well and it's impressive AI could generate this so quickly at such a high level of production. Good stuff!
