They just added new features to Udio and you can now enter a short piece of music your made and Udio will match it, aded to it and extend it. It will also add vocals to an intro or you can put your lyrics in with instructions of instrumentations and genres you want and it will do it. It will ALSO follow your melody if your upload one. Very cool!

Would you consider creating a section on this site dedicated to Udio produced songs?

Yes they have quickly gone from totally free, to paying money for various plans

And if you're like me, you can listen to a hundred takes and not any like any if them. I can go through 25 like that.

So the premium plans allow for alot more takes than free, and apparently they have ways to edit parts which before you couldn't.

I assume it will continue growing. Right now it's really for lyricists, and nothing for musicians I focus on both so I'm torn.

I envision one day singing into it, and it creating an arrangement based on your lyric and melody.

But it's more recreation it's not really to produce songs, just produce ideas and snapshots

By doing that you're christening people who use udio as inferior to people who post using other tacky shite.

There is no difference between you creating a song from boxed arrangements such as ez keys , ez strings, band in a box, garage band, native instruments etc

And punching in every line so that it sounds like a halfway decent vocal.

Then use pitch correcting on it

I mean how much more organic is it?

I suppose your point is that udio sings can be completed faster and they preoccupy the mp3 section?

at one time that would happen here all the time, in both MP3 and lyric sections.

You'd work on something for a week or longer , and it be gone in an hour.

The more traffic more that happens

Your trying to keep it so the forum runs at your pace. Most people write more than one song a year

If Brian decides to make a separate section, it shouldn't be off in an obscure part of site.

The site gets more traffic, once I stopped posting more and more udio and suno songs came on.

And how do you determine what's udio and what isn't? Only cause the people here are telling you, and because you already know their voices and songwriting style.

Not today, I answered a post. Apparently Brian has interest in it too. And I posted alot of songs so people could get handle on it

Just another errand.. just another day, oh boy can't wait to hear a new mix of that, the first ten times spanning years just won't be enough

Let's see if Brian has an agenda. It is his site.

If he doesn't want to segregate the computer generated songs from guitar/vocals etc, then I will accept that and move on.

If your using ez keys band in a box that's computer generated. Just stop.

Lyricists are using it to trigger arrangements. The lyrics for me at least are not computer generated

If there is a new section I bet nobody will post there, I won't mainly cause it was your dumb

And so many songs already posted are better than your songs

There could be (2) mp3 sections

#1 MP3-HMI
Human Musical Input
Basic structural content by human musicians such as Guitar/Vox. Supplementation instrumentation using midi controllers and VSTs and DAWs.
Could even put up a strict G/V and then return later with a version dressed out by VSTs showing the song-build.

#2 MP3-RGT
"Robots Got Talent"
Self explanatory

Nothing complicated about that or difficult to use.
And either one could be first on the list.

"Now I Know" is better than anything that you have ever written or will ever write.

You're just a troll/ghoul/chimp who likes to crap in his hand and toss turds at onlookers. No reality involved.

Yeah? If so, put that song up for review?

Lol you're as thick as a ditch, you don't realize that everything you post is computer generated, computer assisted, computer enabled.

When Mike z did demos for you his music was generated by algorithms in band in a box

But you were gung ho about it, now essentially your insulting mike. Think what you want, do what you want, you can have last word

When you have the time, please answer my question at the top of this thread.
It was trolled. Nonetheless it was a sincere question.

I''ve messed with suno.com , same deal I guess , Yeah they sound pretty good , But yeah they sound like AI . they might replace musicians later.
Anybody can learn how to play guitar and sing with lessons . AI is not walking in a bar and playing songs . These AI songs are all internet songs .

As Brian said, and I found he was right, it's a tool.

If you can't write you won't get good results.

The stuff posted here is not very good, I've heard maybe 10 great songs in a decade

So it doesn't matter, the site is for users to enjoy.

If you start deciding what enjoyable is for you, we might as well be a communist site

Yeah, and anyone posting here or any other recreational site, has songs on soundclick, is not signed, has 10 followers, its ALL Internet songs.

I don't think anybody here believes ai will catapult then to super stardom.

If Marty's ask happens the only person posting in a new area will be Carrol , I won't.

Hopefully he'd realize it's an insult to him too

You don't play live. You prompt robots, as do legions of teens with no musician skills. Where else would you get any attention?

I joined suno and udio....just the free membership. Its a fabulous fun music toy and I look forward to hearing lots more music folk experiment and use it.

My vote for where to post AI music on this site is the MP3 forum. If it gets really busy (and why shouldn't it), I am hoping people will indicate what means/tools have been used to create their offering.

That's very reasonable, but I suspect we won't hear that ez keys ,band in a box ,and other computer generated background music was used.

But we know , they couldn't post a song without them

Yes some like that. But if the end product is worthy, people go "how did you do that"....and so on. Curious minds and all. Adds to the fun and joy.

Step back and contemplate Dom and the AI songs.

If Dom is here, then he is going to erupt and disrupt like he always has. That will not change.
If I direct a post at someone, such as Brian, in Dom's mind everything is about him...and if he thinks that the post undermines him in anyway, he is going to disrupt and erupt it. A Dompster fire.

If he is posting a bunch of Udio songs, that will be a Dompstir fire.
And the Domp-Go-Round will spin and spin until the whole place fades away.

The basis for my suggestion is to create a Dompstir section that will sequester at least some of his antics to a single Dompstir fire.
The admins here seem happy to let him rattle about hurling insults, so a DOMPSTIR SECTION for predominantly his AI stuff would give some of the rest of us who play and sing, a separate place to put our stuff.

If the MP3 section remains combined with Dom's AI song dumping into it every day, the Dompstir will always be afire.
That is the history. That is the choice. Any illusions of a cordial place where songs can be judged on the content of their character is not a possible outcome.

As evidenced here it was the talentless Marty who interrupted this thread.

The op never asked about any of this, he asked if anyone used udio.

Marty thinks that software is writing songs,he thinks recording is writing songs.he does all that and has terrible songs anyway.

He can't admit when somebody is a better musician and artist.

In classic Marty fashion, he appeals to Bill, he can't seem to win a debate without other people giving him the illusion of he's a good writer. . person even

There is no debate Dom.
There never is with you. It is just round and round baseless insults.

You arent a great songwriter.
You arent in any way involved in the music business.
You are not connected to the real world of music.
I doubt you play very well. Even at an amateur level.
I doubt you sing very well. Even at an amateur level.
I doubt that you do anything...very well.
I can't help but wonder if you are hogging a computer at a public library.

But you come here, year after year, to argue about things that you dont actually have knowledge of ....with a bunch of hobbyists.
Why arent you in a studio engaging a first tier production team with all of your prowess?

Because you are just a ghoul, not even in the bush leagues.

So why do you keep going into every song I post and dumping on it?

There's a clear debate going on, only when you stink yourself it holds little weight.

Do it better than me, and you may have something.

No matter what you do that won't happen

I did not.
You proclaimed this song to be "great."
I didn't see or hear any aspect of it that sets it apart making it "great" or even real good.
I asked you to explain it's greatness.
You cannot.

Yeah, do you think that MIGHT have something to do with the continuous dumping?

Any connection at all?

I can explain why your songs suck ver easily, would you like me to?
Giving reasons why mine are great will not go over well even if true

Unbreake My Heart.... is a great song. I can give explicit reasons why I think that it is a great song. If all the sudden I decided that it was a crap song and started posting that it was.. that would be ridiculous.

But your robot songs are mostly fodder... and nothing is great about them.

The moral of the story Is that it would not matter What I said about your songs if they were truly great

Unbreak my heart is an extremely clever, hook, bad verses lyrically, but ok

But it's an amazing performer , THAT is us why it's so successful

Bad ..
Don't leave me in all this pain
Don't leave me out in the rain
Come back and bring back my smile
Come and take these tears away
I need your arms to hold me now
The nights are so unkind
Bring back those nights when I held you beside

Great....
Un-break my heart
Say you'll love me again
Undo this hurt you caused
When you walked out the door
And walked out of my life
Un-cry these tears
I cried so many nights
Un-break my heart
My heart

I have 1000's of fans , I might lose a bunch, If I started cutting 8 second AI songs . Like Rick Beatos' son said " They sound weird" . it's a toy .
But you could be right on scaring demos studios . I'm sure some are going to start losing AI to pitch songs . How that works on Copywrites ? No idea.

You think Diane Warrens ( the prodigy) song sucks ? Man that was a monster hit .

Fdem,
sorry, but I disagree with you regarding the lyrics of Un-Break My Heart. I personally think the verse lyrics are great too. There are so many cover versions of that song and most of them are awesome. The song wasn't that successful just because of Toni Braxton. No way.

Chorus is great, one of the best hooks I've ever heard.

Great melody

Now what?

Absolutely if 10 or more people say they want it (Or if we have at least a few moderators who will keep it going, we don't need a new dead board). Are you able to direct link to files there (and/or other AI music sites?) so people can hear them?

Very cool!

Have you played with the Upload feature? I believe by next year they will follow your melody and lyrics both to create complete productions. You can already Frankenstein that together but it is whonky. I do believe as a tool, it will be like having world class for hire players on your demos. And why not? I think the net gain to humanity of people being able to enjoy making music outweighs the negatives and the best words and melodies will still win in the end. Plus new ideas from an exponentially larger base of creators will result in LOTS of fun. Imagine if our favorite artists could produce 100 times more content their entire career and never age out? That is the future and I love it!

Making it about your desires.

Guys,

No pissing matches. I am happy for ACTIVITY among people. I am not bothered by AI. It is a 100% human created tool no different than Samplers and Synthesizers and DAWs and sequencers. Hell, those old fashioned metronomes are technology assistance to make music easier. Sheet music itself is a human developed tool for music production. It is all fantastic and the most creative people will STILL always have an advantage. Kids are already jumping on board. But so are everyone else and having a blast. I agree with Sting: "Music is its own reward!" If billions of people make TRILLIONS of professional sounding songs, that is a win. There will always be a fanbase on human played music and human sung vocals, but few venues allow for music to be heard without the use of SOME technology. Amplifiers, Microphones, Sound Mixers, Lighting, etc. are all ENHANCEMENTS to making music. So are instruments themselves. A guitar made today is lightyears about stuff made with handmade lutes. But even THAT was technology. So to single out AI as evil or horrible is just "old man shouting a kids in his yard" stuff. Technology is a creativity force multiplier. Bring it ALL on. On day we will mostly come home and say to the spouse "What kind of movie do you want to watch" and they will say "how about John Wayne and Gwen Stefani in a Rom/Com about Aliens forming an interstellar fast food chain and Gwen learns they are using humans so John Wayne saves the day after hilarious obstacles and escapades" and seconds or less later it will play out in real life looking Holograms in your living room. That IS coming, eventually. Let's enjoy these baby steps right now!
