If the accounts in the article are true, he bragged about being untouchable because of his stature as a player.

They investigated and banned him, looked at him again just a few years ago and decided that the ban should stay in place.

The point is that rules and regulations are important and the degeneration that would occur if his gambling had been excused was considered to be too excessive to ever excuse.
The point is that, notwithstanding his exceptional career stats, people who have a big stake in the game have decided to keep him banned from MLB.
Even though the merchandizing of his bigger-than-life presence would have been worth some money to them, they decided that the downside was too great a risk.

BUTT...Rose bet throughout his career, and on teams that he played and coached for.

That is from a position of authority. That is a major stain on the integrity of Bball reflecting back to the 1919 Black Sox.

Bonds and McK, like Armstrong were only player-athletes when they cheated on enhancers.

The message is arguably dubious and unsound for multiple reasons.
There is nothing in the lyric that displays anything new, insightful or particularly artistic.
The musical style sounds "canned," dated by decades, unimaginative and trite.

Summary:
The song introduces nothing that hasnt been said or done thousands of times prior.
It sadly exemplifies the oncoming deluge of uninspired, easily contrived, machine produced songs that will flood the world.
