I'm not really old enough to have seen him play but highlights .. and stats don't lie.
Those classic basket diving catches, barreling into the catcher at home plate, today they'd be afraid they'd break a nail .
There are wife heaters, drug addicts , tax evaders in the Hall, and oj killed two people and he was still in the football one
He became the poster boy he paid his price, let him in, cost him millions.and yep no roids

The article that I posted mentioned his 3000 hit record still standing. And there have been all sorts of felons in the major leagues.
But Rose was a player, player-manager and manager who bet on baseball all through his career and lied about it...until he admitted it in a book...and then rationalized it. If the accounts in the article are true, he bragged about being untouchable because of his stature as a player.
They investigated and banned him, looked at him again just a few years ago and decided that the ban should stay in place.
OJ killing his wife has nothing to do with Rose. Lots of people steal cars. It's not an excuse for stealing cars.

The point is it's not the moral hall of Fame, its the baseball ball of fame Many say his breaking the cardinal rule by betting on baseball, said it on every locker room ,is unforgivable, but play, says he belongs But it's about who is the greatest player, not the greatest person And he may be a good guy anyway despite his demons And it's 4000 hits, 3000 is automatic hall of fame, he eclipsed that by 1000. And played the game like every father would want their son to play it But I realize not everybody agrees, figures you dont, why am I not surprised lollllll

So it reaches the right audience Id say his name alone and the controversy would get hits It's unreal the baseballs all time hit leader is not in the hall. I may add a verse, more commentary. But it's like saying say, a fire fighter, who may have stole overtime from the station or town, doesn't deserve commendment for saving somebody's life on the job

There's 1000's of vids loaded a day , It's a niche on the vid to a particular audience. Baseball.. Keyword , Pete Rose . You have to research Keywords on competition value . Some are real pricey .Since Pet Rose was a long time ago , the Keyword might be cheap on his name , you'd have to analyze it. What's cost per click . Billions of tools like this Personally i think baseball, is like watching grass grow. You can also put in Keywords of artists sound a like . (Example): Bailey Zimmerman, Morgan Wade, Dylan Marlowe . But you better sound like the artists . https://bit.ly/3KsdSzW

The point is it's not the moral hall of Fame, its the baseball ball of fame The point is that rules and regulations are important and the degeneration that would occur if his gambling had been excused was considered to be too excessive to ever excuse. The point is that, notwithstanding his exceptional career stats, people who have a big stake in the game have decided to keep him banned from MLB. Even though the merchandizing of his bigger-than-life presence would have been worth some money to them, they decided that the downside was too great a risk. So, Whose opinion do you weigh more heavily, the people in MLB with the authority to view the evidence and make the decision, or some guy on a songwriter site with a history of various aka's?

And it's not just my opinion, many agree many disagree It's all opinion on what his fate should be , mine is mine, yours is yours Get over yourself

Another random somebody with his opinion, amongst thousands, writing an article. Obviously not an opinion that can bring anything to bear on the decision. He cements the idea that Rose is dubious at a moral level, but says install him anyway. BUTT...Rose bet throughout his career, and on teams that he played and coached for. Rose says that he never bet on his teams to lose, but he is a self-confessed liar. If you like, scribble out a sign, hang it around your neck and go stand out front of the Hall of Fame, but it aint happening, for good reasons. Maybe posthumous, but I doubt it.

https://www.cincinnati.com/story/op...-his-hall-of-fame-induction/73194156007/I dont even know if it's about forgiveness, it's about achievement on the field.if you go home and beat your wife after the game, your home runs still count. I get why people think the other way, I just think differently

The people who have viewed the evidence and have had the authority to make the ruling for decades, think that you are wrong.

The people who have viewed the evidence and have had the authority to make the ruling for decades, think that you are wrong. I reviewed the evidence too, you're missing the point. It's about your achievement on the field, can't be taken away I know what he did jeopardized the integrity of the ganne, but doesn't change that his number and uniform belong in Cooperstown. He didn't cheat to get 40000 hits And there's no right hearing answer, the ruling was made by people who didn't like him in the first place.

Legendary sports journalist Bob Costas says this ... https://danpatrick.com/2013/07/23/b...peds-rose-deserves-another-look-for-hof/Costas had great comments on Barry Bonds. He said saying Bonds would have been right there with Babe Ruth without steroids is like saying that he could come into the ManCave on stilts and say he’s the tallest guy in the room. “He didn’t get an edge from PEDs,” Costas said. “He was transformed by them.” Costas thinks all this should help Pete Rose. “Can anyone say with a straight face that Pete Rose damaged baseball as much as the steroid era guys did and some continue to do?” Costas asked. Costas said he asked that directly to Bud Selig, and the Commissioner was uncomfortable with it. Costas said at least put Rose on the ballot, just like Barry Bonds is.

Costas thinks all this should help Pete Rose. “Can anyone say with a straight face that Pete Rose damaged baseball as much as the steroid era guys did and some continue to do?” . Unlike Bonds and Mark Mck, Rose was a player-manager and a manager when he bet on the teams that he played for and managed. That is from a position of authority. That is a major stain on the integrity of Bball reflecting back to the 1919 Black Sox. Bonds and McK, like Armstrong were only player-athletes when they cheated on enhancers. Why Kostas cant see the simple clarity in that...I dunno?

Jabrony Dom You appear clearly afflicted by a petty form of clinical narcissism. Once again, it has caused you to make this post about your opinion. (And Donald Trump's) ...rather than stay on track. That does not follow from the points that I made about the decision to ban Rose and leave him banned. You have started that rabbit hole because of an innate compulsion to make the discussion about Dom and then an argument. Dom is a ghoul. No rabbit holes and side tracks for me today.

LOL I woulda liked drop kick murphies, but yes, I like this because Celtic music is good at championing causes, and controversial heros. Your an architect:, stick to that

Critique,
The message is arguably dubious and unsound for multiple reasons. There is nothing in the lyric that displays anything new, insightful or particularly artistic. The musical style sounds "canned," dated by decades, unimaginative and trite.
Summary: The song introduces nothing that hasnt been said or done thousands of times prior. It sadly exemplifies the oncoming deluge of uninspired, easily contrived, machine produced songs that will flood the world.

The honor's for the best in the game .. nobody else has said it like that lt, you y didn't even see that, until i wrote it .. it's not political it's not popularity it's not racial, it's about baseball. You don't even understand the significance of my opening line.. And so it goes the writings on the wall "Don't kill thy neighbor and don't bet on baseball" That said, it's a protest song, it's not supposed to be that poetic As i said, you're an architect, stick to that

You don't even understand the significance of my opening line..
And so it goes the writings on the wall "Don't kill thy neighbor and don't bet on baseball" I think that I do. I saw that line as some sort of mash-up of the 10 commandments. In turn you appeared to be elevating betting on baseball to the commandments...using parody. You may see that as some breakthrough achievement in the written arts, but there is nothing new about that device. I view it as trite. It is.

No breakthrough at all, I'm using something that us based in the past. Your asking me to be an innovator, or groundbreaking , I'm just trying to write good song, with that criteria , almost no artist makes the cut But I do know there is no such song around now, he is mostly villianized And wrong, the line refers to how serious betting was... The writing on the wall is actual every clubhouse has it written on it So the ten commandments yes, but there's logic in the line. I'm gonna pretend you don't exist any more, hooe you do the same
