Honorables..... Mellencamp, joe Jackson, Dylan of course but I think he gets bill cause of lyrics. Mostly. I do enjoy some of his stuff but that's half the equation
To counter your top 10 somewhat misogynistic list of males I give you a pretty good list of woman many of whom should be on many top 10 lists...

Creators of music have a responsibility to their craft. When they have finished using all the notes and words, they must pass them down to the next generation with a simple request. “Use these to create new music.”...Steven McDonald

Ok I guess I may be guilty of leaving out some women, I guess it has to do with what am I a fan of. I don't relate to Joni, or Dolly, they are wonderfully gifted talents.
Oddly the only woman I really listen to is Joan Jett. She's what Rock n roll is all about. I just don't consider her a top Songwriter
But I will also add some of your names are kinda weak. Do you really think Adelle belongs in a top ten list?
Taylor swift...hmmm, well I'll give her this in modern times she's great.
But if u wanna put women in how bout Lucinda Williams?
Adele is, IMO one of the better song writers today...I'm not that keen on Swift but she's got 14 grammies and a billion bucks....that's gotta mean something

I know it's subjective and if we asked a bunch of teenagers we'd likely hear names we never heard before.
Picking ten is also hard.
To me Adelle uses proven emotional formulas to Garner hits. Nothing wrong per se. But I think if anything her voice is her best feature.
Her songs put me to sleep.
And mariah Carey. She's just a great singer nothing else.
She did however write many of her songs which make her one of the richest ever

Well, I so wanted to mention my boy, Willie Nile. The guy is in his 70's still cranking bangers. How he never became a superstar I don't know. He's by far the greatest rock star you never heard of , or most.
Just a few of his latest offerings, I chose my own purpose for songs when guys are political. But this guy is just so good.
One who I really love, and maybe bias kept her off the list is Suzanne Vega.
Suzanne Vega..she actually blows my doors off, I just am more interested in listening, than being a fan. I remember hearing her greatest hits in Barnes and Noble and being amazed.
Chrissy Hynde of Pretenders her voice, talk if the town has to be one of the best songs ever.
Sheryl Crow very clever Songwriter and great singer
I guess lean more towards singer Songwriters and rock and pop.
