Hi, everyone.

Here's an Afro-Pop song by Ugandan singer, Julie Ssesanga, that I co-wrote.

Julie sings in the Luganda language (of Uganda, East Africa). Here's the translated lyric -

SSEKANYOLYA (the long-necked bird. Flamingo)

He deceives and confuses you. You empty head.

You have blinded and deafened yourself from reason

Lwaki tolab’ewala, nga Ssekanyolya, oyo.

Why don’t you be foresighted like a flamingo (Ssekanyolya)?

Gw’owalampa, amaka goyonoona, watya nga Maama wo?

What if it were your mother’s marriage being invaded this way?

Radio likes short Songs. They leave more time to play advertising that pays the bills.
The music is just to keep you listening until they can advertise again.
I can't easily pick out a Repeated Hook, the main idea of the Song, in a memorable Melody. Ssekanyolya is only mentioned in random places, not a Repeated place, like the last Line in each Verse or in a Repeated Chorus.
A 'memorable' title should be mentioned three times, or more; five.
When the Song is over that Line of words and Melody should replay in the head of the listener.

I like this song a lot...nice production and excellent vocals...you call it Afro Pop but it has a definite Latin feel to it and would be a great Salsa...I wouldn't worry about shortening it down...at 4:14 it's fine...well done!!!

I appreciate the feedback. African songs are usually longer than European and American songs. I am sure you've noticed that with Nigerian Burna Boy, who has broken big into the US music industry..:-)
