This song came to me on a flight to New York. The request came to put phones into airplane mode and I had to stop texting. Somehow it got me thinking about not being able to get calls or texts for a while and how that's not always a bad thing. One thought led to another and, since I couldn't call or text anyway, I put my phone to better use and typed out this lyric. By the time we landed, it was done and I had a melody playing in my head. I like all those ideas, bit I do see a couple of problems. Firstly, he's talking to her, which makes more sense if he actually answers the phone. Secondly, and maybe not as importantly, all those mean things he says make more sense once you've heard the song than they do at the beginning.
I appreciate the suggestions. As I said, it's a work in progress, and I'm still making changes.

I don't think you need the profanity to make this fly Gavin , and Youtube will be mad and could shut you down.
Unless you did not throw monetization on the vid, even then, they watch.

I agree about the profanity, Ben. Even describing the pigeon as a "little bastard" is on the edge, although it seems to convey the attitude better than "little fella" or some such generic term.

OK, so I weighed up the suggestions and my own misgivings and decided (at least for now) to keep the iPhone sound at the beginning, but shorten it and start the first beat of the musical intro on the last beat of the ring tone instead of waiting until the end of the spoken part. I think that works better. I also changed the end to add a little bit of a twist. I think it works better and gets the message across without the need for profanity.
