Real fine song Tony . Laid back and sweet . I'll let Mike get into all the mixing stuff lol. I don't deal with that ...Mason in Nashville does that for me . I'm lucky to get a decent work tape off. Well I miss the south Tony , but I won't go there , its your song.

I like it. Your singing is more laid back and suiting the song well.
I feel a push/pull between the drums/lead guitar vs. the acoustic guitar and vocal, making for a unique sound, though they create a tension that might be taking away from any intended whimsy or sweetness. It's like an aged whiskey with some kick back.
I love the lead playing, though, kinda like a Clapton Brit Blues approach, but yeah, it might be making the song less ballad-like and sentimental for sure. Maybe exactly what you were after.
Very nice. Unique mixture of sweet and tougher sounds.

I think you went with a red hot chike peppers feel, which is perfect for a song about Cali, maybe some doors too, and same effect.
I think it's a good lyric, and musical feel
Only thing missing is a hook. You have the lyrical hooks, but I think you could sing I sure Miss California in a way that stands out, here it's a passing thought, but it's the main theme if the song
I think you're getting better with lyrics, writing to the title
Sounds great!

Sounds great! Not funky enough for Peppers but I'll take it lol. I've tried spanking my bass, but it just laughs at me

Lol... I found a new use for my BOSS Loop Station pedal. POD Go allows you to record "wet and dry" tracks at the same time. So, I've been recording takes and bouncing them to the looper. That allows me to just listen and focus on external tone/effects (pre-amp stuff) instead of experimenting with multiple takes. This VOX track was actually just a "one-off" for placement... Perhaps I sing better when I don't think too hard about it Thanks Eddie
