I wrote this as a sort of slap to intransigence. Too much of it out there. But what do I know? https://on.soundcloud.com/EFuatAs far as I know © 2023 Vic Arnold As far as I know, I tried my best Blinded by uncertainty I took the test As far as I roamed, I've never seen a place I needed more than where I've been And all things considered I still bathe in the after glow .... As far as I know. As far as I love, I loved my wife even when her words cut through me like a knife As far as it seems, she still loves me although we're not together like we used to be But all things considered it seemed right to let us go .... "intransigence..." lol, good word! On the other hand, life simply "is what it is" and you have to live it regardless... I think you put a real fine point on that Real Sweet, Vic!

Vic,
A real nice tune. Loved the melody and your arrangement! (I did have to go look up that word definition however)......

Nice sentiments Vic. Wives can speak, but usually shout some cutting and acerbic things. Pleasant ballad John

Vic, are you, like, the fifth Highwaymen? So much grit and self-honesty; as moving as anything Waylon, Willie, Johnny, or damn...EVEN Kris K ever wrote (in my humble opinion). There was always a beautiful transparency to their lyrics, and that's always been a part of who you are, too. Maybe we're a little older and realize there's much less to lose. Bless you, ol' friend. Mike

As far as I know....
You make the song work. 100% youre the singer of this song , I think take you out of the picture it's not as good . You want to listen cause it feels sincere .
It might be one of your best and it sounds really good too.
And I love the bridge...
One nit might be that you overuse the as far as I know hook. I know that's a giant part of the song, but I think it might add a bit to counter with a rhymimg line in spots.
I enjoyed listening and it does seem to tell who you are, can't go wrong doin that

Mike. I blush at your comments but thanks. Actually I was thinking Waylon at the time of writing. Good to hear from you and I hope you’re well.

Thanks Fdem. You rained on my parade, but I forgive you. I did think myself that I may have overused the hook toward the end. Now that you bring it up I will have a rethink. Thank you. Vic

It's simple and honest and feels heartfelt. Most great songs start that way. I love the melody and the little guitar breaks add interest. Very good delivery too. It's very moving. One of my faves of yours.

This is all I'm asking for .
If your gonna go basic and bare, put your heart in it.
Liked it when I heard it, still do
