Hey Musical Activists!
One of the coolest things about Renaissance Funk is that it helps bring Social Justice to the world.
Music has always been connected to Social Justice. And nowadays, that can take the form of Jazz, Spoken Word, Funk, Hip-hop and even classical music.
But at the end of the day, music for music's sake is not enough for us... and we're guessing maybe not enough for you?
We are composer/pianist Wendy Loomis and poet/spoken word artist Royal Kent. Together we formed a band called COPUS and we think this music will be right up your alley.
If you like ditsy, non-meaningful, flavor-of-the-month music streaming online... then this may not be for you.
On the other hand, if you believe music has a purpose such as to create beautiful melodies while conveying a strong message, then Renaissance Funk is for you and COPUS has your back!
