Hi all...this isn't new but the production additions are. Please have a listen and let me know what you think 8) “Go On and Cry”Words & Music By Tom Tognaci Special thanks to Kerry Parr on Steel guitar and Organhttps://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14527131Hey, what’s that you said? What you gonna do when they kick you out of bed? Say what! Come again? What you gonna do when the big man hauls you in? You say that’s nothing new But what you gonna do when the hammer falls on you? Well…you’re going to cry a lie And you’ll make some fool hearts weep But gator tears are sly Go on and cry Hey, what’s that you said? Just let them eat cake if they’re running out of bread Say what! Now, come again? You got your megaphone and the press core’s listening in You say nothing that’s new But what you gonna do when the ink gets spilled on you Well…you’re going to cry a lie And you’ll make some fool hearts weep But gator tears are sly Go on and cry A big shot, a fat cat You keep your nails clipped and your cash in the laundromat Say what! Now, come again? There’s no telling what kind of dirt your hands been in You say that’s nothing new But what you gonna do when your white wash launders you Well…you’re going to cry a lie And you’ll make some fool hearts weep But gator tears are sly Go on and cry

A thumbs up from me Tom....sound is clean and it has a nice softer Dylan vocal and vibe
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

All the reverb on the steel needs to be pushed back in the mix a bit. But, you're right! Nice addition to the mix

Cool song. As John says, there's a Dylan feel to it. Clever lyric as usual. I also agree with Tony about the steel guitar. It's a great addition, but it kind of outmuscles the vocal in the fight for our attention.

Fine, fine production IK and yes Dylan would be envious...
But I gotta comment on the lyric...one of the best I've yet to read here...I'd like to pick out a couple of good lines, but it would be the entire lyric..they don't write like this anymore...except writers like you...wow!! Steve

I've not been on JPF for so long and this is the first post I clicked on and I'm not disappointed. Great little tune the harmonies on the "cry" section. I think I'd like the vocals to have a little bit of verb as they are really dry but they still sound cool.
Maybe a bit less verb on the steel GTR but these are just little niggles. Great little tune.
Regards Andy

Steve Thanks, Steve...........I do attempt to do it right. Thanks for the glowing praise. It's really good to hear, every once in a while ;-) I've not been on JPF for so long and this is the first post I clicked on and I'm not disappointed. Regards Andy And thanks to you too, Andy. My mixes and productions always leave people arguing ;-) I must admit, compared to most, I'm not very good at all. My only hope is that the song shines through. Thanks, again!!

HI TOM!!
I really enjoyed the voices and the production of this and I also got a Dylan vibe from it. I was listening to your much older songs I downloaded in a different lifetime, lol and they are so special, still. Always wonderful to hear your voice and art Tom.
