Everett that scam was active way before AI....and it relies on confusion, the law of large numbers, and big hearted grandparents who lose eveything after grandkid in trouble with the police.
I doubt any scammer would invest in AI....nor can AI instanly mimic the voices of grandkids...simply has no base data
Tell that to the people who said they were sure they were talking to their grandchild. That scam was on the go for a while but the one on the phone was usually a police officer or lawyer. Yes they would have to have access to the voice to mimic it, but that is not impossible today with so much recordings done.

I kinda go with what Everett is saying here, John...IMO AI is scam heaven for these fellows, designed specifically with crime in mind...they are on the leading edge and probably have a 2 to 3 year head start on the good guys already
Totally agree Steve, but Everett claim it was AI that made voices that sounded like their own grand kids.....
AI has no data to "pre" mimic a particular voice tailored to someone at the end of the line who is a randomly called individual
on the other hand...a random male scammer voice...and the law of large numbers...is far cheaper and more effective.
not saying AI will not find a place in the scamming world ...can't see how opportunistic inquisitive fellow men with the means and know how would not at least be tempted I suppose the good guys in that scenario become the cops who chase those who would let temptation be their guide

Q; My faith in God bothers me sometimes. Am I crazy to believe in something that can't be proven to be real?
No, you are not crazy to believe in something that can't be proven to be real. Many people have faith in something that cannot be proven scientifically or logically, such as the existence of God or an afterlife. Faith can provide comfort, hope, and a sense of purpose to many people, and it can be a deeply personal and meaningful belief.
It's important to remember that faith is a personal choice, and it's okay to have doubts or questions about your beliefs. It's natural to have moments of uncertainty or questioning when it comes to matters of faith, and this can actually be an opportunity for growth and introspection.
If you are struggling with doubts about your faith, it may be helpful to talk to someone you trust, such as a religious leader, a counselor, or a friend who shares your beliefs. You may also want to explore your beliefs further through prayer, meditation, or reading religious texts. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what you believe and what brings you comfort and meaning in life.
Q; What should I say to those who think I'm crazy?
It can be challenging to deal with criticism or disbelief from others regarding your beliefs, particularly when it comes to faith. However, it's important to remember that everyone has different perspectives and beliefs, and it's okay if others don't share your beliefs.
If someone thinks you're crazy for believing in something that can't be proven, you might try explaining that faith is a personal choice and that it provides you with comfort and meaning in your life. You could also suggest that while they may not understand your beliefs, it's important to respect each other's differences and find common ground in other areas.
It's important to maintain a respectful and non-judgmental attitude towards those who have different beliefs. Remember that everyone has the right to their own opinions and beliefs, and it's not your job to convince others to believe the same things as you do. Instead, focus on living out your beliefs in a positive and compassionate way and lead by example.
Q; Am I wrong to believe in only one God?
Believing in only one God is a fundamental tenet of many religious traditions, including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, among others. If you identify with one of these religions, then your belief in one God is an essential aspect of your faith. It's important to note that there are many other religious traditions and spiritual practices that have different beliefs about God or gods, and it's ultimately up to each individual to decide what they believe.
It's also important to recognize that everyone has different beliefs and perspectives, and it's not for anyone else to judge whether those beliefs are right or wrong. It's essential to respect the beliefs of others, even if they differ from our own.
Ultimately, what matters most is that your beliefs provide you with comfort, guidance, and a sense of purpose in your life. If your belief in one God helps you to live a meaningful and fulfilling life, then there's nothing wrong with that.
Q; I'm a Christian. What is the difference between faith and Spirit?
As a language model, I can provide you with a general understanding of the concepts of faith and spirit from a Christian perspective.
In Christianity, faith is often described as a belief or trust in God or in the teachings of Jesus Christ. It involves a personal relationship with God, and an acceptance of his plan for salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. Faith can be seen as a virtue that enables individuals to live a life in accordance with God's will, and to persevere through trials and challenges.
On the other hand, the concept of spirit in Christianity typically refers to the Holy Spirit, which is the third person of the Trinity, along with God the Father and Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is often described as the presence of God within believers, guiding them in their spiritual growth and empowering them to live a life of faith. The Holy Spirit is also believed to give believers gifts and talents that can be used to serve God and others.
So, while faith refers to a belief and trust in God, the Holy Spirit is believed to be a divine presence within believers that empowers them to live out their faith.
A I is taking over in many places replacing man, now A I is writing songs, will it be singing songs next. The beast that the bible speaks of that speaks will be A I, they are even now replacing the womb for having babies.
I don't buy it. The AI music I've heard isn't better than incidental music they use in movie queues, but there it's pretty good at.
AI can simulate humans, but it has no soul, so it will never be that good, unless it plagiarizes. IN the field of art, AI art was being sued for infringement, I hear.
Everything can be quantified and imitated convincingly. Even "soul." Don't kid yourself, it's happening at a rapid pace.
Maybe to some folks. Up front and close, I believe I'd be able to tell.
fly off the handle just because I use an analogy that involves using guns\AI against people ?????
the only thing I said was that you cannot blame AI for the actions of people (Tony's point)
You don't know or understand me. Never have. I'm not flying off the handle. Just being matter of fact. The killings are tragic. So are the uncountable murders that happen every weekend across the country.
But, We are a gun country. If we weren't, the 2nd amendment, like slave and suffrage references would have been repealed and removed from the constitution. The repeal of guns stands no chance of occurring. None. Zero. Only a fool believes otherwise. The cat (guns) are out of the bag and not going back in. The buy-back programs are just libtard feel-good masturbation techniques and campaign speeches aimed at people that are too dumb and/or deluded to know better. There are a bazillion guns out there and if guns are outlawed, only law abiding citizens will not have access to them. People like me can connect the actual dots that are in place and not the fantasy dots. We want our guns to protect ourselves from the bad people that will always have guns.
What do you and I possibly agree on? Universal gun registration and proof of ID. Not just for guns, but voting. Already have it for vehicles. Possession of a lethal weapon is a legit thing to have registered...on every occasion of purchase or transfer. All of mine are.
I'm also in favor of being able to tamp down nut jobs before they create a crime scene. When I was a kid, the cops could go lean on those phuques and "jack them up." The ACLU et al put an end to that.
Additionally,
I've explained this to Steve, but once again. You all are very fortunate human beings. You live in a lovely modern nation bounded by polar bear country to the pole, two oceans and the 800 pound gorilla. In addition, your culture, to date, is relatively cohesive.
Because of your protective borders and the protective umbrella of the US military and polar ice, you have the luxury of believing that all of your libtard fantasy stuff truly works. It doesn't. It is just a protected illusion. As a Texan, the luxury of any such fantasies has been eroded for me. If the US were to ever withdraw our protective umbrella from you, then you would lose that luxury also. Polar bears and the oceans would not keep the wolves at bay.
Believe what you will, but I've watched liberal policies erode my nation for an entire lifetime, beginning with the undoing of the educational system. It is happening at such a rapid rate now, that I am alarmed enough to be very frank about it.
However, I am mad, but not angry. I'm just laying a point of view out clearly for you that seems to be lost on you. And, Other than the dude with the couffed hair, I do not know the name of one Canadian politician and dont plan to intrude any further into however you all want to run your country. Please provide the same consideration to my country.
I hope to have been enlightening.
Marty
Is it necessary to use disparaging terms, rant words?
Look at all the "CRAP" they're filling our children's heads full of in school these days. Alphabetasexuality and CRT... AND MOST CAN'T DEFINE "CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC", CAN'T READ, CAN'T WRITE, OR DO BASIC MATH!
I've been saying for years... With at least a B average, you should be able to take a "Gun Safety" elective course your senior year in High School; And passing the course should be marked on your drivers license... RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION!
Southern Americans are very passionate about their Bibles and guns.
So, if that's the going definition of "racism"....? Then, screw it! OBAMA IS RIGHT!
Pat that post of Marty's convinced me to support his 2nd Amemendment right to own a gun for, in Marty's stated case....his own self defence
Has to be tough to see the grandkids in that light Tony..immersed in an education system that goes against your beliefs, lacks quality, but that you can't control. Guess here is where parents and grandparents step in to help? Dunno....not a grandparent yet so I don't have your worries. Wish you the best though....
And this statement Southern Americans are very passionate about their Bibles and guns Does that alien Decatur visitor experience that passion waxed poetically with creative sativa energy, with some calm indica reservation, or some underthesurfacebubblingtension seeking relief?.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop
What should I do John? Just bite my lip and accept it?
Fine...
There's no such thing as gender. Children have every right to choose a pronoun, and seek free medical treatment for "Identity Disorder" without parental involvement. It's the natural and logical thing to do; The younger, the better.
If you are a white, Southern American, Christian, gun owner... then you are obviously a racist. Also, if you're not "woke", and you didn't vote for Biden... "then you're not black."
If you call yourself a "Conservative Constitutionalist" and stand against defunding law enforcement, then you're a fascist; A bigot; You're anti-democratic and un-American.
If you don't have sense enough to realize that a "progressive NWO" is inevitable... then you need to be silenced; Cancelled; Cast out so as not to interfere with the true and legitimate purpose of the enlightened.
Children, of course, are the future, and need to be educated in accordance with all the above to ensure loyalty and obedience to the ruling class. You can't have freedom without proper authoritative governance, and you can't have equality unless everyone knows and accepts their place.

I thought that this political post was over with. I guess that ended.
Libtard? Libtardian? Libtardanian? Citizen of Chimerica?
Considering the border, crime, no-bail laws and the pointless victims of those turned loose criminals, men saying that they are women and gaining access to women's athletics and in one case... a biological male overpowered and massacred a female UFC fighter, on and on... and watching this country being destroyed by any open-eyed, time-tested markers?
Yes, Libtard has been earned and it's the nicest moniker that I can think of. If you don't like the term, don't post or tell Brian to ban me.
Not a concern to me one way or the other.
btw...if being called libtard is that big of a deal to you...it is indicative of the overall problem and malaise. I field insults regularly for my beliefs. I just shrugged them off until some idiot called me a fascist and actually meant it.
What should I do John? Just bite my lip and accept it?
Fine...

Oh, and if "open borders" offends you... then, again, YOU'RE A RACIST.
And before I go on...in today's fogged up and inscrutable world...you are free to take your pick."
LOL... Actually, that's a great example.
Nobody really cares about who anyone is having sex with, and that's the way it should be.
However... If you ARE considering who everyone else is having sex with, especially when you go to the BALLOT BOX, then that obviously IS a problem. Sexuality simply shouldn't be a FEDERAL ISSUE.
Your freedom to live your life as you choose is not the problem, especially in America where your liberties are considered God given and Constitutionally guaranteed. Overreaching, divisive, totalitarian government claiming the authority to dictate morality IS the problem. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Consider this; When, historically, has any minority ever faired well under a totalitarian regime? Freedom and equality are always great campaign platforms... but once given lawful and absolute authority, a totalitarian ruler immediately goes into "threat mode". Then, suddenly, if you're not like everyone else... YOU'RE THE PROBLEM.
People need to realize that America is only 250yrs old. America and its Constitution were FOUNDED upon rebellion against authoritarian tyranny... tyranny in the name of God, no less. Effectively, America's Constitution set the ideal standard for abolishing slavery world wide, and recognizing all of humanity as equal.
If you don't appreciate Constitutional Conservatism NOW... I can guarantee, you will certainly miss it when it's GONE. Minority issues among the colonists were settled 250yrs ago... WHEN WE ALL BECAME AMERICANS. Shortly after, 600,000 died in our own Civil War to PROVE IT!
Globalist totalitarian "rulers" want to stir everyone in the same pot, and will say anything to gain the authority to do so. For all you feel good "propaganda parrots" out there, you're not "Woke"... YOU'RE HYPNOTIZED! WAKE UP AND SEE WHAT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING!
My knowledge of biology is nil, but I googled the following. Please check me.
A human body has appx 30 trillion cells. Cells (assuming all) contain 23 pairs of chromosomes. One of those 23 pairs differentiate males from females. XX for female XY for male
So, consider this...someone has 30 trillion cells containing chromosomes that dictate female gender, yet there are people selling the idea that you can hang a wang on Janet...and all of a sudden Janet is Jack. Or Janet can just say she is Jack and that's that.
Can someone, who subscribes to the notion that gender is a personal discretion, explain to me why I should disregard the above?
Effectively, America's Constitution set the ideal standard for abolishing slavery world wide, and recognizing all of humanity as equal.
Actually Tonester, not so much. The Europeans abolished slavery well before the US. And the notion of human equality and inalienable rights was born in the European enlightenment. We adopted from that body of thinking. Essentially (I think) as a reaction to the wretchedness of kings. And I think that these concepts were included in British parliamentary law about the same time as us. But the Brits hung on to the masquerade ball and its' cast of characters that remain to present.
Thanks to George Washington, we took it all further and got rid of kings. Legend has it that he was offered kingship and said "pass on that, I've had all the hell that I want." (paraphrased and dramatically enhanced)
All of that needs verification, but I think that it is basically correct.
Don't swallow the cool-aid Marty, that's "interpretive revisionist history". Europe was the epicenter of slave trade long before Washington... that's why the Colonists brought slaves here.
The American war of independence and declaration that "all men are created equal" is what started it all.
A human body has appx 30 trillion cells. Cells (assuming all) contain 23 pairs of chromosomes. One of those 23 pairs differentiate males from females. XX for female XY for male
They also say that every cell of the human body is replaced every 7yrs. Does that make me a virgin again?
The TRUTH used to actually be taught in grade school...
Tony
There are many notable documents in the lineage of Western human freedoms. The Magna Carta is one. There are many which surely exist that I am not even aware of. My personal opinion is that the US Constitution is the greatest of all. I can think of no greater country than the US in the history of the world. In terms of personal freedoms or economic and military "might."
I'm a big fan. But I believe in the truth and you are signing on for pre-packaged tribal propaganda. I'm a admirer of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington and the other men who went forward with a revolution that realistically should have failed and ended up with them hanging. But fate wanted otherwise and delivered freedoms and inalienable rights in the form of a nation...but those freedoms began with thoughts.
Try this just for starters....google the US FOUNDING FATHERS + MONTESQUIEU + JOHN LOCKE, and then follow the trail from there.
Give credit where credit is due Tony. Don't drink the Kool-aid just because it is your favorite shade of purple.
Of Course there were "freedom philosophers" on the largest and most politically oppressive slave trading continent on the planet! WHY DO YOU THINK WE DECLARED INDEPENDENCE AND MADE FREEDOM CONSTITUTIONAL!?!
This is by far the stupidest conversation I've ever had...
Sadly, I agree with at least one sentence there. Horse to water Tony.
If you decide to actually seek some truth....Founding fathers+Montsquieu+Locke+Trans-Atlantic slave trade+Portugal+Britain and also "when did the European nations abolish slavery."
You're hung-up on dates Marty... After the war of independence, Europe mostly considered America a bunch of unruly colonists... While the Brits were writing laws, America wrote its Constitution and was still forming states. America had to fight a Civil War before it could even build its own infrastructure. America didn't even have a railroad to the West until after the war.
America was the first to Constitutionally oppose the global tyranny of the day... Then, America had to "clean house". Keep the FACTS in context... and, yes, give credit where CREDIT IS DUE!
Politics be damned! GOD GIVEN LIBERTY IS THE ONLY REASON AMERICA EXISTS.
Unstoppable force? Please tell my wife that. She hasn't signed on.
I like to think that I stop when I hear something that sounds realistic, accurate & true. Short supply of that around here, which makes the place kinda fun.
And Tony? Fugitabout Tony. Right now, someone is sitting in a conference room deciding what Tony will think a month from now. Or until Tucker Carlson and his crew land somewhere new.
(Tucker gets a lot of things right. But, not everything)
Nope! AI is already stigmatized... IT'S FAKE. Nobody will spend money for it.
Assuming that you really mean that Tony...ok, I'm accustomed to you being wrong about the obvious. Believe what brings you comfort. After all...you can define your own truth....these days

"A lot of people will tell you that preparation is what will make you successful. But I think that people misunderstand exactly what that means sometimes. The type of preparation you need most is the kind that allows you to instantly seize an opportunity, change your course based on a momentary circumstance, and grab hold of the totally unexpected when it happens, and allow it to take you for the ride of your life! That is the kind of preparation that can lead to the most enjoyable type of success." -Brian Austin Whitney
