Last month I spent 2 weeks in the hospital with 7 days in ICU as I was intubated for Pnuemonia & the Flu. No less than 4 doctors told me they thought they were gonna lose me the first 2 days, & that I almost died...Seeing & feeling my own mortality, & with much unfinished business, my only "promises" to God was I wanted to finish my journey well & fulfill whatever I was specifically put on this earth to do.
Here's a new one. Some unfinished business that almost didn't happen...
Come to the Altar (C)2023 Steve Altonian
Come to the altar Sit at Jesus feet Take it to the Father Every worry, care & need If you wanna be made whole Rest your weary soul Come to the altar
Come to the altar Come just as you are No need to keep your distance No need to stay so far If you want to be set free The Lord will meet your need Come to the altar
Hear the Spirit call come kneel down at the cross Feel the touch of God upon your heart Bring your hopes & dreams & lay your burdens down Leave them in His hand trust the Masters plan Come to the altar
Come to the altar Sit at Jesus feet Take it to the Father Every worry, care & need If you wanna be made whole Rest your weary soul Come to the altar
If you want to be set free The Lord will meet your need Come to the altar Come to the altar Come to the altar Come to the altar

Just reading the lyric, I don't see a lot of difference between the verses and bridge regarding what you're expressing. I think the 2 V would be a better opener. Best of luck! -Mike
Yeah looking at the LYRIC you would think either verse works to open....But when I sing it, & the way I phrase the LYRIC, not to mention the arrangement, it just sets the tone & opens the song & message better with sitting at Jesus feet...
More intimate
It's a "feel" thing...

"A lot of people will tell you that preparation is what will make you successful. But I think that people misunderstand exactly what that means sometimes. The type of preparation you need most is the kind that allows you to instantly seize an opportunity, change your course based on a momentary circumstance, and grab hold of the totally unexpected when it happens, and allow it to take you for the ride of your life! That is the kind of preparation that can lead to the most enjoyable type of success." -Brian Austin Whitney
