Here is NEXT WEEK if you couldn't already guess...
I will be out of town, personally, from Tuesday forward and I suspect many of you have holiday plans as well.
I may as well announce now - I was not sure what to do with this place over Christmas -- but tho I don't have a banner made up - It's just gonna be open season on singing Holiday songs of your choice -- which should be fun!
But due to family responsibilities and travel etc, misc, throughout December I can't micromanage here as I know I'd want to and listen to every possible holiday tune posted - so ... rather than put the thread on hiatus I'll just challenge you to sing your guts out on holiday material! Plenty to pick from and A LOT of public domain to boot!
Thanks for understanding.... and with luck you will all SING A LOT over December and post here -- with fewer limitation rules - just sing and post when you like but you know, 4 songs/day from the same person - just like on the boards - may get overwhelming (LOL!) ... but ya know... we haven't had too much of that problem crop up so far so I expect you'll self-regulate OK in my semi-absence.
Then.... "Back to Work" with new weekly Challenges come January!!
Sound good? GOOD! OK GO! (well, wait till Monday for Thanksgiving/gratitude songs please.... and if you'd light a candle on the 24th to mark the 20th of Freddie's passing... I would surely appreciate it!)
Please post like this: TITLE ARTIST LINK EMBED PLAYER (if you can find the code, post it, even if you don't have HTML markup on your browser - I'll help out) POST ANY 2 ORIGINAL OR COVER SONGS (of your own!) YOU WANT per player. Thanks and have FUN FUN FUN!!
oh wow did no one sing over Thanksgiving??? oooops...
Holiday Songs peeps... I'll make a banner...
your OWN written Holiday Songs for whichever holidays you celebrate this season - are all appropriate to post here at any time! Don't worry about the song count... just try not to over-do and post a whole album a day... ya know
SING AWAY! Holiday songs ALL MONTH allowed here -- through January 2!
[color:#009900]Or a Winter Song ... or whatever.... and I'll re-zing this thing when I've recovered from our family wedding plus holidays! I may have a health procedure or two coming in January too... but I'll keep folks posted who need to know.
The palm trees are shivering As old man winter blows My garden might end up with A cucumber in snow
But I've still got the spirit And a half a case of beer Ray Charles is singing loud Christmas time is here
CHORUS.... But we ain't got no chimney On this old double wide The doors are locked with Pit bull's inside So Santa here's an option that Might make better sense Drop our packages over the fence
Bring the twins a doll that wets With tiny golden curls A big city diamond ring For Pearl my favorite girl
And some dirt plowin' tractors For my country fried boys And man I'd like a set of drums So I can make some noise
REPEAT CHORUS.... But we ain't got no chimney On this old double wide And grandma's got her Double barrel inside So Santa here's an option that Might make better sense Drop our packages over the fence
Thank you Mr. Santa Claus You're a far out dude Everyone's in love with your Ho Ho Ho attitude
Well I guess everyone's busy. Me too. I felt like singing this one today. I kinda liked this backing track. Chestnuts Roasting (The Christmas Song) Mel Torme - arr for Christina Aguilera
Lol it's more a song with a few bumps in it... hahhaaaa that's why this is the karaoke "allowed to be imperfect!" thread!!!! I just have always loved this song since I first heard it, and it was Featured on SingSnap today.
and here's one I want to really work on: this was taped 15-20 minutes from my first listen to the song so. It's getting better Adele - One and Only from "21"
I'm not Adele or trying to copy her. I gotta sing this the way I feel it. Thanks guys!
Ok, here's my newest from me, I wrote the lyric did the vocal and did the melody...John did the piano track for me...this is called "You've Still Got It" thanks glyn
Nice rendition of "One and Only." I recently watched her DVD live at the Royal Albert Hall and I not only enjoyed her singing but also the stories she told in between songs.
Cool song, Glynda! I enjoyed the piano accompaniment, was that played by anyone or did you use a midi program to program the notes?
Here's one of my latest, a piano/drum instrumental I recorded in an afternoon about a year ago, called "Permanent Midnight." I was inspired by Peter Gabriel for the percussion (even if it's not really obvious) and the piano parts were recorded spontaneously and then layered together. Enjoy!
HI Ann....thanks for liking my song...John Lawrence Schick our own beloved friend here on JPF's did the Piano track for me...For this song I only wanted the piano in it....I sent John a music track with only 4 chords on it that I had done on Jamstudio, but I don't know well enough yet how to change the chords up to change for the chorus...I asked John and he sent me this wonderful track...and I'll never forget how beautiful it is...
Listening to your music now and enjoying it...very calming, relaxing...would love to have this downloaded and playing sometimes when I can't sleep.....love it...
It would be fun to keep it going Linda. Perhaps you and others could make a post about it on Facebook and then I will share your explanation for how it works etc. on my accounts as well. Can you do it?
