I chose this little acoustic ditty way down on my list to do a little experiment... Last year I treated myself to a POD Go (before the price went up lol) and it quickly became my "All In One" interface for everything. I love it! Anyway, it has hundreds of presets for Guitar/Bass/Keys, but all the way at the bottom of the amp list is a lonely little basic VOX pre-amp with no associated effects. So, I have finally gotten around to creating an effect string for it. With the exception of a mild limiter and a wee bit of stereo delay in LogicX, what you'll hear is all POD. Please critique VOX tone, levels, and clarity... since I'm not posting the lyrics I really don't need a critique of my singing lol... this was just a cold "one off" with a placement count. Thanks in advance, Tony https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14253600

JPOV. I gave a listen on my computer speakers; my setup has a 100-watt preamp, and the bass is drowning the vocals somewhat. The woofer is kicking butt though. Could be my hearing also, when I was a kid, a cat scratched me behind the ear. My head swelled up and it affected the hearing in my left ear. (Cat scratch fever) it's a real thing. My mother took me to Johns Hopkins and the consensus was I had Hodgkins's disease but a doc who was writing a paper on it said I had cat scratch fever, part of why I can't sing well, I can't hear. I'm going to listen on several devices, headphones, phone etc. and see if comes across the same way. I'm like Seargent Carter "I can't hear you."

That's actually good to know lol... I record in my living room using the same system that I watch TV and listen to the radio with. I don't have a sub, so I'm constantly trying to get a little extra "kick" out of my recordings lol Thanks!

My ears are not discriminating enough to give you what you want...so I will just say I liked what I heard

My ears are not discriminating enough to give you what you want...so I will just say I liked what I heard Much appreciated JV At least tell me "how" you're listening... anything other than laptop speakers is a good reference. I just had another listen myself this morning. From my perspective, I like the bass guitar out front... but this also has to be the most "vocal proud" recording I've ever done (despite the flat notes lol) But, I could be just like chesterb and terrible Ted from so many years behind a kit and trapped in the garage with amps. Not to mention all the guns lol...

Listening w/pro Audio Technica headphones that add very little coloration.
As a "set-it-and-forget-it" vocal pre-amp/effects chain, the clarity, detail, and warmth on the voice is close to perfection, for me. Love the little bit of reverb and echo out the right channel. Panned-to-one-side reverb/echo used sparingly can do wonders to add depth.
Love all the guitars/bass in the variation that occurs at 1:16 to 1:33 and repeats later. Must be the unisons, octaves, and note bending. Very cool. Love it. That's the hookiest part of the song for me.

I listened with headphones, could hear you much better, also I had the bass boost turned up 1st time I listened and much better with that turned down but I kinda like rattling the windows. Nothing wrong with your singing JPOV, wouldn't hurt to put it out front a little more.

But, it could just be the old stereo speakers I'm using for monitors lol. I'll have to check those out. Next on my list, acoustic guitar tone. The POD has a short built in looper that you can place anywhere in your effect string. LOTS OF FUN It also has an usb "re-amping" feature, but my computer is an old 2012 model and I haven't been able to make it work... Thanks Mike

Nothing ever sounded as good in my car as it did in the studio... But, yeah', I know what you mean about rattling the windows and annoying the neighbors lol

How do you mount your phone for video recording? I've been looking for a convenient way to do that. Hell, I may even cut my hair

steady-eddie Buddy, if you have any questions about "POD Go", just ask. I am super impressed with it! But, don't think that you have to go totally "analog"... I plug my little Marshall Valvestate into it and just use the cab and mic emulators all the time

Listening to this and other songs of yours I have to say I like the vibes I am hearing. (You sure can play the guitar). Your songs are amazing Vapov.
Glad I took some time out to listen. it was time well spent.
