Come to the altar Sit at Jesus feet Take it to the Father Every worry, care & need If you wanna be made whole Rest your weary soul Come to the altar
Come to the altar Come just as you are No need to keep your distance No need to stay so far If you want to be set free The Lord will meet your need Come to the altar
Hear the Spirit call come kneel down at the cross Feel the touch of God upon your heart Bring your hopes & dreams & lay your burdens down Leave them in His hand trust the Masters plan Come to the altar
Come to the altar Sit at Jesus feet Take it to the Father Every worry, care & need If you wanna be made whole Rest your weary soul Come to the altar
If you want to be set free The Lord will meet your need Come to the altar Come to the altar Come to the altar Come to the altar

Just reading the lyric, I don't see a lot of difference between the verses and bridge regarding what you're expressing. I think the 2 V would be a better opener. Best of luck! -Mike
Yeah looking at the LYRIC you would think either verse works to open....But when I sing it, & the way I phrase the LYRIC, not to mention the arrangement, it just sets the tone & opens the song & message better with sitting at Jesus feet...
More intimate
It's a "feel" thing...

I went to church Sunday... I haven't done that regularly in years. It was nice to get out, mingle, congregate lol, but something is very different these days.
Church used to always be about Jesus. You could always depend upon the pastor/minister to put a fine point on the definition of Christianity. People used to actually bring their Bibles so they could read along... Not so much anymore.
The first thing that hit me Sunday was a sound system that was way too loud for such a small space, drums drowning out the vocals, and the crowd just standing there while the "performers" BEGGED everyone to clap and sing along...
Then, by the end of the service (about 30min), I realized that only one short passage from Ezekiel was displayed on two big screens, and a very animated "motivational speaker" charged the congregation to get out and make an impact on society... but without any real direction. He also kept pointing at a camera and telling the rest of the world "online" to do the same.
I left feeling more "Out Of Touch" than when I came...
Don't get me wrong, everyone knows "I'M" a Christian activist lol... But, that's not what Sunday Morning Worship is supposed to be about.
Maybe I'm just getting too old... Like the rest of the elderly in the back row trying not to snore...
This is no reflection upon your song lol, "Come to the altar" is always a good idea. I just wish more people were focused on the reason why...
Very pretty man , good production and vocals. I can't handle being a old Catholic , all i think about is pedofile priests driving by churches , So I get relgion thru songs
