Well, it's about that time o' year, time to play my Christmas Song! I forget if I posted this last year or not. Now, I know many of you are dog lovers, but y'know, kittens need love, too! Snowflake (The Christmas Kitten). https://soundcloud.com/patricklockwood/snowflake Snowflake.. You furry white playful thing A dream that St. Nicolas brings A kitten for Christmas Time Snowflake.. As white as the winter snow you jump through the boxes and bows and you bring out the child in me Without you.. My kids will get bored too soon We need you to frolic across the room.. (and pick up the mood) Snowflake.. A gift to my precious child As soft as the snow is mild A kitten for Christmas Time Snowflake.. As white as the sky is blue A bundle of fur it's true You'll be ours for a long long time Snowflake.. Try not to grow up to soon I'll remember you just this way the joy of our Christmas Day Without you.. My kids will get bored too soon We need you to frolic across the room.. (and pick up the mood) Snowflake.. The laughter you bring is here while we finish another year with the joy of a Christmas Day

Boy this takes me back a long way, Pat...the song just grows and grows on you...beautiful feel to it...and when I listen to a song, being a dancer, I picture myself dancing to the music...this is a perfect slow foxtrot...slightly different than a regular foxtrot, and one of my favourite dances
love how you put this together
Steve

I LOVE THIS, such a sweet write and great vocal....but I am bewitched by the rhythm and melody you put to this. I have been trying to find more jazzy and Latin types of styles to my songs. I think this works and really love this, I am listening to the next song on Soundcloud....I am just enamored, I need to listen to you more, very inspirational....I got lost in Bossa Nova when I was listening to Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66. Point me in the direction to hear more from you....Spotify, Bandmix?? Let me know, I'm hooked.

Tammy Thank you so much, Tammy, it's always nice to be appreciated. www.jazzytunes.com and you can email from there, if you want. if the tunes are not accessible from that website (they do blocking overlays in some browsers on the links) a more complete selection is my soundcloud page (the source of the links, anyway) https://soundcloud.com/patricklockwood Note that the only composition that is not mine is the one entitled 'latin nights'. Also, 'This love's Insane' is the instrumental version of 'Obsessed' ( I was thinking of a new title and lyric for the Obsessed song) and there are two vocal versions of it. Much of my music is Brazilian or they are spanish boleros. There are some vintage swing songs, like the Christmas song. Also note that the song 'Precious" has the same melody as Snowflake. My song 'sister' is dedicated to my three sisters, all of whom have passed away (over a period of years, I'm 71, and the youngest in the family). I have four Brazilian/bossa nova songs on Spotify sung by the artist Bianca Rossini, so on Spotify, search for: Tarde Em Copacabana Perfume De Verao Doce Amor Why I smile, Noting that the first two songs each have over 100,000 spins. (translated: Afternoon in Copacabana, and Perfume Of Summer '[a metaphor for love] and Sweet Love, all in Portuguese by Bianca ) And these three Brazilian/Bossa Nova/Latin songs on Spotify by Mari Nobre Linda Gosto De Voce And Now The first one, "Linda", is not about a woman named Linda, the word translates as 'Pretty" or 'beautiful" in Portuguese/Spanish and the song is a female empowerment type song, in Portuguese, and Mari wrote the lyric. Her band members are all from Brazil, her husband, Leo Nobre, used to play with Sergio Mendes, and she is from Italy. The Pandeiro player on Gosto De Voce (I Like You) is Carlinhos Pandeiro de Ouro, who is Brazil's most famous Pandeiro player. The instrument has a large following, there are competitions, and Carlinhos won one of them, and went on to be famous, playing for Queen Elizabeth. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlinhos_Pandeiro_de_OuroThe Sax player on Gosto is Scott Mayo, who is famous, as is the Brazilian guitarist, Kleber Jorge, you can google these two. But all of the above can be heard all in one place on the soundcloud link thanks, again, Tammy for your appreciation. Patrick Hardy Lockwood

Lovely work here - a song to a cat (of all things )! Great lyrics and piano playing. Vocals are nice a clear - can listen and hear every word. There is a bit of "pumping" (with the compressor?) on the keys. Might be just my cans though. good work Happy 2023! Paul
