Hi, all: Well, it's been a while since I've posted here--so thought I'd offer up a couple of recent efforts. Here's the first--just another heartbreak ballad of sorts. Hope you enjoy. NO WHERE ELSE TO GOMy best to you all, Deej

Wow D..............that really is stellar. A GREAT song........and your singing is STAR quality. I don't remember you having anything this awesome.............;-) The production is OK, and that sax is a bit sloppy.......but, a dam fine song, nevertheless. This is a standout, for sure. Lovely work............. -T

Nobody does heartbreak like Deej! Fantastic song, fantastic vocal performance.
Where the drums kick in at about 56 seconds, I expected more than just drums, and I continued to feel there was something missing. I didn't really notice the guitar on the first hearing. After a slow, wistful build-up, you have an emotional blockbuster here, and I felt it deserved more instrumentation. Also, the jazzy sax felt like a slightly uncomfortable choice. It's a pop ballad rather than a jazz number and the sax solo didn't seem to me to fit.
Absolutely brilliant song, Deej.

Imo...This song is the best vehicle for the timbre of your voice that I have heard you do. The match-up between the vocal melody and the piano melody was lovely and compelling.
The only thing that I didn't think lay in the mix well was the sax solo. To my ears that did not work. Nothwithstanding that, beautiful and wrenching tune DJ.

Eddie, IronKnee, Gavin, Marty and MFB III:
Thanks all for the listens and the feedback--much appreciated. I've received mixed reviews on the sax. I actually like it, but perhaps I've just gotten used to it. When it comes time to put it on an album, I'll have to revisit and try out some different solos--but this seemed to work best out of the many instruments I tried in the BIAB program. But worth giving it another shot when the time comes.
Deej

On board with the lyric and voice and melody and the comments on the sax are on...maybe bring them more to the front and make it fuller....????.....
Is all instrumentation BIAB???
Great hook and hearfully rendered
