Southdown Souls is an American rock band out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Combining influences from the great blues, soul, rock, and folk music of the past; Southdown Souls creates a soundscape that is both original and reminiscent. Listeners are immersed in the deep roots and rich culture of south Louisiana from the recorded music to their authentic live performances. The strong foundation of the rhythm section is comprised of Chris Roberts (bass, vocals) and Terry Cheramie (drums) who through their years of experience in American blues music have shared the stage with B.B. King, Robert Cray, Z.Z. Top, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Gregg Allman, to name a few- as well as Louisiana legends Tab Benoit, Luther Kent, Henry Gray, Lil Jimmy Reed, Kenny Neal, Larry Garner, Jonathon “Boogie” Long, and Chris Leblanc. Eric Peters (guitar, vocals) adds a multilayer of honest lyrics, alluring melody, and organic guitar work that completes the musical statement. Southdown Souls play regularly in the south Louisiana area, continuing to grow and captivate their audiences.
