SMOKING THE BIRD SEEDS
I LOVE TO FEED ALL THE BIRDS IN MY YARD, AND WATCH THEM SO CHEERFULLY FEED, ALL MERRILY SINGING IN JOYFUL SOUND, BECAUSE THEY ARE HAPPILY FREED.
I USED TO LIVE IN A WORLD LIKE THIERS, TO TRAVEL WHEREVER I PLEASE, FLOCKING WITH OTHERS AND SINGING WITH JOY WITHOUT ANY FEAR OF DISEASE.
HUMANS NOW LIVE IN A WORLD THAT HAS CHANGED, AND FREEDOM IS GIVEN AWAY, HOPING TO TRADE IT FOR SAFETY SOMEHOW, AND THINKING THAT IT'S HERE TO STAY.
FREEDOM IS NOW JUST A DREAM IN MY HEAD, A MEMORY THAT COMES WHEN I'M STONED, SMOKING THE BIRDSEEDS AND SINGING MY SONGS, STRUNG OUT IN MY BIRD BATH ALONE.

...feed your head.
I liked it so much I went at it as I heard it sing and made some changes for you to KOS
I LOVE TO FEED ALL THE BIRDS IN MY YARD, WATCH THEM SO CHEERFULLY FEED, MERRILY SINGING their JOYFUL SOUND, Happily flying and free.
I USED TO LIVE IN A WORLD LIKE THEiRS, TRAVELling all as I pleased, FLOCKING WITH OTHERS we sang loud with JOY No fear when you're flying this free.
HUMANS NOW LIVE IN A WORLD THAT HAS CHANGED, FREEDOM's been given AWAY, Everyone's trading for FOR SAFETY SOMEHOW, ???????.
FREEDOM IS NOW JUST A DREAM IN MY HEAD, A MEMORY THAT COMES WHEN I'M STONED, SMOKING THE BIRDSEEDS AND SINGING MY SONGS, STRUNG OUT IN MY BIRD BATH ALONE.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

i like your changes. That last line in the third stanza was an attempt to point out that swapping freedom for safety would mean we are worthy of neither. (Benjamin Franklin)

Thank you. A little clumsy in spots. Written on a whim after hearing some bad ideas from the top brass in the Army. They must be smoking bird seeds!
