JLS knows. He has stuff posted on another covers thread .
I think it's as simple as creating an account, searching for what musician you want, and then sending the request. You need to use paypal, which I hate paypal, but that's required.
I guess cause the individual cant accept cc
I'm gonna use it myself but I've been resisting paypal

This might help you..
FAQ
Can I pay with my credit card? Yes, you can pay with your credit card or debit card. For more information on payment methods, Paying for Services. What if I'm not happy with my delivery? If you are not happy with your delivery, you can always ask the seller for revisions. You can also resolve any further issues with your order through our Resolution Center. What do the seller levels mean? A seller level is a status earned by sellers based on ratings, performance, quality, and other factors. For more information, see Fiverr's Levels. How do I contact the seller before I place my order? Within the Gig page, you will see a "Contact Me" button. We recommend contacting your seller before placing your order, especially if you have specific requirements.
but even then you might have to run through PAYPaL Ive never had work done there so thats all I could find. there is another site you might want to check out too. I think Its AIR GIGS...basic, the same, and I know they will take credit, or debit, or paypal, but you don`t have to use Paypal tried to get someone to sing harmony on a song I have...didn`t work out..still have that song...lol "no harmony"

Yes, PayPal, debit or credit card. More than reasonable prices. I've used a sax player on about a dozen tracks. He was easy to work with. The sax player sent me three takes and was willing to make changes. When you okay the performance, a box will come up asking how satisfied you were with the performance - and ask if you want to leave the performer a tip. I leave a 25% tip and my total bill is only around $60. They'll also sign-off on all rights to the performance and track. I moved "Moody Nights" up to number one position on my website here; https://johnlarenceschick.com/home This is one of my Fiveer tracks. From my experience, I highly recommend them. Best, John

I listened to Moody Nights. You really get a thick in-the-room sound on that. And the music is very nice. Do you get that with compression or something else? Does the sax player send you dry stems or wet tracks?
I got some pops when I listened. Was that a simulated old-LP-effect or something else altogether?
Thanks
Marty

That's good to know. It must be fiverr processes the card and then they pay the musician either PayPal or check?
You can't beat a real musician for sound, for creativity, for everything. Let's face it a sax player knows what a sax should do more than I do.
Plus it's so much work trying to do everything yourself.
I'll probably still program drums, I can get good results using toontrack drums, id love a real drummer of course, but you need some kind of foundation building from scratch. I'll handle guitar , might even hire an acoustic player, and sing, and low and behold if I need a female voice on a song I can get that too
I'm looking forward to doing this.

Best, John Yeah that's really nice John. How do you coordinate technology? Same DAW? I send him an mp3 of the background piano part, a piano & simulated horn mix, and also a lead sheet. In return, he sends me three dry takes in wav format plus an mp3 of a dry mix with the piano. I always ask him what take he used in the mix - though I'll give & take among the three takes.I find his favorite take is often mine. Then I drag all three takes into the Logic Pro project (on another computer) with the background piano and mix. I EQ the sax part to my liking and add a reverb. That's about it. Very simple. Best, John

I listened again thru some inexpensive Tascam speakers on my desk and I still heard the occasional popping. I put on some head phones and heard it in those too.
You said that you load in three takes of the sax. If you do any cutting and pasting of the 3 takes....are you adding cross fades between the events (regions)?

I do some cross fades. Can you tell me where just one pop is at, i.e., at 2:43? I listened on speakers and headphones, I don't hear any. Much like vocal performances, the sax does involve air. Natural air from sax just gives it more authenticity.

It may just be on my end but I heard pops at 4, 18, 21, 25, 37 and 1:06.
I just put the music to my last song without vox to a work video that I did and I did not hear any pops on that.

Marty Just checked it. Didn't hear anything remotely to a pop. Must be something on your end. Maybe the app on my website isn't compatible with your system. Don't know, but thanks. John

I don't hear any pops. I woulda given the sax player some room to improvise. He seems to keep it safe and simple. But he sounds great.
And not sure I heard moody nights, but you got some cool sounding chord patterns going on there John. Jazzy stuff

Nope, I nailed it. I think the musician doesn't want to play too busy for fear he may have to do a retake.
Especially with no vocals he wouldn't do any harm playing a smidge more.
But I have been nothing but supportive on all of John's stuff and his fiveer stuff. there's no negatives in there
I'll redo your post now....
"John it sounds great, and I think the popping I heard came from my hearing aid....."

Yes, he plays it exactly as the written note. Though he interprets the mood and personal feelings towards the music Some of the takes are more aggressive than others. Thanks, John

I'm looking forward to doing this. Yes, I'd like to try out one of their singers Fde. Pure Vocals do s good job on vocals, but pricier than Fiveer. John:)

Regarding Fiverr....I'm trying out a woman from the Ukraine on background vocals for that song that I just finished. I'll put up the end result if it turns out okay. In her reviews, people rave about her. She has a lovely voice and plays keyboards reasonably well. We'll see.

Here is the result on my business website Askthecreditcowboy.comI made the JPF logo originally in 1986 on my B/W Mac SE and #42 of the first ever HP Inkjet printer. That is why it is so simple. And people abused us for years in the new "internet" era with photoshop. But if you use Chrome as your browser (maybe others) Our logo shrunk down to a tab pops better than nearly any other page you visit. They tried to make me trademark it in B/W back then for "print" purposes, but we did it in color anyway and still have it today.

Best, John I know this is an old thread, but fiverr caught my attention. I loved your song, John. The ambience of "Moody Nights", was like telling a story by itself. Jazz is one of my favorite genres. And I have used fiverr as well this year, to hire a singer for vocals on 3 of my songs. Love her voice too. She's the one that sang on "My Eyes" and "3AM" that I have over at broadjam. Enjoyed reading the conversation here.

Ive been looking at bass players and keyboard players, gonna use the drums ive spent so much time on programming. But it can be hard deciding. You have no way of knowing if the player is good at "composing" parts. They can jam all they want, and play cover songs, showing that they can play, but how creative are they, how well will they play with my songs.
It's all a crapshoot, i dont like this 5 dollars for songs under 2:00 minutes nonsense lol. Lets be real here, who has a song under two minutes. Or do I start writing songs under two minutes to save money on players lol. The Ramones came close to under 2 minutes
I prefer upfrontness, tell me what you're going to charge me to play bass on a song. Some of these guys are like car mechanics.."well, it took longer than I thought it might" Im defintly gonna try. Gonna give them one song at a time and see if they are any good. Musical parts should compliment the melody, if you're going to jam, i might as well use samples.

Bravo! Another excellent track. Oh the sax playing is very sweet. And compliments your track well. I agree, it pays to shop around. I first found this one singer, and she knew her stuff well, as far as creating a melody for my lyrics for a topliner track, but she just wasn't the country sound I needed and her melody was ok. So I shopped and found the one I used on the song titles I mentioned previously, for my Crash & Burn song. I will be checking out more of your compositions, John. :o))) Have a wonderful 4th.

I agree, as far as how creative can some be or not??? And on that under 2 minutes, what's with that? LOL And I tend to stay away from anyone who says they'll do stuff for 5 bucks or some rate that seems way too cheap .. you get what you pay for IMHO. Good luck w/ your venture there and I hope you find the right one you can work with and does great creative work.

Thanks Marilyn. It seems the 5 dollar thing is there for eye candy, when you see it, you at least think...hmm this is reasonable. Only to click the next tab and realize they want 10 or 20 or 50 or 100.
Maybe some people only need bits for tv or movies, and it works out fine.
I just remember playing in the different bands, and having people from all styles playing. Id be wanting a singer songwriter backing, and somebody is playing Heavy Metal guitar, it's always hard finding people who fit you and get you.
Ive seen a few that look reasonable, so well see when I get there. Might end up playing most of the stuff myself if i can get good quality with my home stuff.

I agree, it is hard finding ppl that fit and get you. I've been lucky enough to find my cowriter who does melodies, her strongest, and my lyrics, and we compliment each other well. All my best, :o)))

Are you hiring them to play or to arrange? It sounds like both. Hire a producer (which is what arrangers now call themselves) and they will usually do it all for you. I'd rather write the arrangement (the fun part) then have a pro play it like a human rather than my synth reproduction.

I want players who play to the song not jammers. Arrangers, well it's me singing, me playing guitar and drums, so all I need is a bass player and a keyboard player, bass i can do myself if i had to.
Yeah not hiring a producer, i had a guy like that here locally when i was just a young buck. He worked with Tommy James and some other guys from NJ, and I paid a flat rate to play everything, i did guitar and vocals, i wanted to do bass, and I was fighting with him...lol
Then he picks up the bass and my jaw was opened, I couldnt believe how good he was, im like i suck! yes, you do it. He just played like the bass was a lyric, it was amazing. The best recording I ever did by far but it cost me, I mowed alot of lawns to pay for that recording.
Nowadays the game has changed, everybody is engineer, producer, artist, songwriter, band, singer, arranger and promoter all in one.
It's rock music, so there not much arranging involved, i just want people who play to the song, not everybody can.
