Well, i liked the song that came on after that, free to be me, at least i liked the track and the sound you got, i think the melody and/or vocal needs to be tightened, but it reminded me of coldplay or something.
AND, this is probaby the place Brian should post his announcement, or use this one to talk about it. You know people saw it at least.

Really dude?
I'm tracking a song & take a break to go to get some coffee. So I click on your link, & now all I'm hearing in my head is "Song of the month"

Mexican free tailed bats are very important in the containment of crop pests as they can eat 2/3 of their body weight worth of insects in a night.

Cynical? Bats are good things. Indispensable to the eco-systems.

So, there's your songwriting challenge! Once Brian gives us a topic, YOU figure out a way to work in "bats"

You could turn ice cream political.... But a real challenge for musicians is to have to compose something that sounds like the theme. For example, if you were to compose a song about falling off a cliff, what would it sound like? Billy Joel always amazed the hell out of me the way he made music visual... Take running on Ice for example, the whole swooshing sound, the rim shots soundings like hockey sticks...the music sounding like somebody actually running on ice, unsteady, incredible composer he was/is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k10apVDH90U

I remember my Dad had Billy Joel's greatest hits back in the late 70's, and it was truly a welcome break from all the old country he normally listened to. Then in the 80's he bought Santana's greatest hits and completely blew my mind lol. Anyway, yeah' "Piano Man, My Life, You may be right, It's still rock-n-roll" are way up on my list of favorites! But, I have to say... I've never heard "Running on ice" before. That doesn't even sound like Billy Joel to me... It's syncopated and intense, but without the lyrics that's all it is. Could use a re-vamp

BIlly Joel was TOO LOUD for my dad.... so was anything well, a bit loud. He loved music but hed often say "how can you hear anything with them loud drums or guitars" Im like dadt...thats rock n roll. HIs idea of rock n roll was Fats Domino, 50's doo wop Its syncopated and intense, because that is what the lyric is conveying. Frantic, off balance, like you are running on ice. When it gets to the chorus its a bit more fun and popish. Its not a very known song but one of my favorites. But he has many songs that paint a picture, like PRESSURE, that riff IS pressure.I think its his classical training that allows him to make pieces like that. But one song I love from him that nobody really knows or cares about is "all for leyna" he once had hair you know https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzE1-NlOthY

Why don't you do a "running on ice" cover?

That would be pretty damn hard to cover that.... Id have to switch keyboards for guitar, getting those drum fills would be tough.
If you listen closely the verses sound alot like the police "Spirits in the material world" which Billy said he was tributing them in the song.
Im having a hard enough time do my versions to my own songs!
Dont want to hijack your thread, I hope you get a hat....
