Steve, Love your comittment to your Lord, and you have a really good sense of melody and contrast.
I woulda liked to hear it full accompaniment. Some power chording on the chorus....
Trying to figure out who your voice reminds me of, it's kind of Dylanish whi;e at same time Rod Stewart or something, that rasp.
You cant go wrong when it comes from the heart, well done! Great Piano sound too!

Hey Steve!
What a great write and and potentially could be a really powerful song. Its beautifully written as is......but I think you have a lot more potential if you empower your bridge and make it more climactic rather than just a break. You also have the chops to do it--of course, JMO.

Hi Dom, I appreciate your comments, but the reality is the Lord has been way more faithful to me than I have been to Him. I guess you could say at this point in my life, I feel inspired & moved to re-write the ending of my story. This is one of those songs that came together quickly & in many ways seemed to write itself. I got the Chorus in the evening & wrote the verses & bridge in an hour or 2 the next morning. So yeah, it did pour out of what's in my heart That piano stack setting I came up with on my keyboard is my go-to piano sound for sure... Thanks for the great words

Nice one Steve. Great vocal and melody lines. And of course I'm going to like the piano Didn't quite get what "spirit to fall" means, but hey - it sounds good Paul

What a great write and and potentially could be a really powerful song. Its beautifully written as is......but I think you have a lot more potential if you empower your bridge and make it more climactic rather than just a break. You also have the chops to do it--of course, JMO. I think you could improve the dynamics of the bridge by (maybe) adding one more story line, but having the bridge vocally build to a higher octave climax, then moving to following ending chorus outros which could be empowered by background choral singers tagging.
Other ideas for consideration: Insert distant highly reverberated drums (snare dominant) coming in as interlude pre-bridge and choral singers accompanying outro choruses--maybe some tagging repeats. I think making the bridge a more climactic transition to outro chorus choral singers would give this song a super dynamic vibe. Just food for thought, not at all imperative, just sharing my thoughts. (Maybe my thoughts are influenced by Harrison's "My Sweet Lord).
This is really musically simple, yet good!
steady-eddie I went with the Piano/Vocal for now because I was thinking maybe I should use a "Christian" Producer who uses the types of Piano, Drums, & guitar textures daily so prevalent in modern Worship...I simply don't play that U-2 type of electric guitar. And the drums should be airy...The piano sound is there already There's a certain sound on keys, guitars & drums I'm looking for on this one Thanks guys

I didnt have to listen to it to know that it was going to be good. Your songs are always real songs and a pleasure to listen to.
As this one is.

""The Lord has been way more faithful to me than I have been to Him..."" You need to sing THAT! JAPOV…You’re right…I’ll have to put that down in the line binder… Nice one Steve. Great vocal and melody lines. And of course I'm going to like the piano Didn't quite get what "spirit to fall" means, but hey - it sounds good Paul Hey Paul, Appreciate your take on it…And especially pleased you guys like the piano… Waiting “for your Spirit to fall” means you hear or feel a direct touch, word, or inspiration from the Lord by His Spirit into your spirit… Thanks for the good words on the song…

As I listened to the song and read the comments, from others, about making it full production I at the same time liked how you had created it. I then sort of figured it out, at least in my own mind. This a conversation you are having with the Lord and that is personal and IMO that doesn't need full production. When others listen to it I believe the quiet of the song, as is, creates the right atmosphere for them to have that conversation with God....this song is so peaceful...thanks Steve

Congratulations, Steve. That's wonderful news. A song I cowrote "Small Town Dust" has been nominated by The Josie Music Awards for Single of the Year by female country artist Amie Sheitel as well.
