The songwriting circle topic for this Monday is Freedom. Here goes:
Destined For Freedom
V1 Well I'm running Up the hillside In the light of An August moon There's a shadow On that hillside And In my head An olden tune
Chorus Will I am Will I am Destined for freedom
V2 Well I'm rolling Down the hillside In a slide of Seaside sand There's a boat And I am rowing Away , away To safe haven
Chorus Will I am Will I am Destined for freedom
Bridge The bull that blow the horn I know he knew my mom He didn't move a muscle until morn By then I was long gone
Chorus Will I am Will I am Destined for freedom

ahhhhh......ok thanks. I thought it was obvious....but too opaque. opaque and simple- bad combo!
Will I am is a little...silly. and...the bridge needs more information to wake up the verses...maybe.
Thanks!

Heading for Freedom V1 Running frightened Up the hillside Too much light from An August moon Finding shadow On that hillside Keep my head low Don't want to swoon
Chorus Well I am While I can Heading for freedom
V2 I'm top and flying Down the out side In a roll of Seaside sand There's a boat And I am rowing Away , away To a better land
Chorus Well I am While I can Heading for freedom
Bridge The hack that blows the horn In that prison in the valley Is a favorite cousin to my mom And promised silence until morning
Chorus Well I am While I can Heading for freedom

I'll try it. I've been trying to tame open G, AND a slide on my baby finger. I put the slide away...too crash thunk screech etc. I picked up two chords in this open G tuning from a youtube video. I like the 'rake' technique and am trying that out in the verses now. Fun! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgjFJnfsdWI

Thanks Travis. I'll try Japov's line suggest as chorus, and discard Well I am, for starts. Bill
