I think that captures the sentiment of many of those who are stuck in jobs that they hate and only endure them because they need a paycheck. I am hoping that the generations who succeed us will be able to find a better way. That was one of the hallmarks of the "free love": period in time, and yet that generation ended up being the biggest workaholics ever, making liars out of many futurists who had once forecast that advance technology would lead us into a society of leisure.
Merle Haggard had a classic song "Working Man Blues" which in some ways has a similar theme but his character fights off that feeling.
