Here’s an interview I just did with 2020 Just Plain Folks Male Artist of the Year Harold Payne. From Peter, Paul and Mary to Snoop Dogg, we examine Multi-Platinum Songwriter Harold Payne’s musical life “Under the Radar and Over the Moon!”
We discuss his long collaboration with Rock Hall of Fame Member Bobby Womack, their UK Q Award winning collaboration with Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz) and even a crazy day at Eddie Murphy’s house at the height of his career. I kick it off asking about the early days of Cheech and Chong onto discussing his songs in films like Splash, The Joy of Sex, Beverly Hills Cop II, Summer Rental and more. I challenge him for stories on the many famous artists to record his songs from Rod Stewart to Patti Labelle, Lana Del Ray to the Temptations to… watch and see!
How do you build a human Loop Machine or serenade a Lyft Driver on the way to a gig? I share his short videos on those too.
How do you make a long, full time musical career work without becoming famous? Watch and see!
This is our very first Artist interview, it's a casual chat among friends. We look forward to interviewing many more of our talented and award winning members!
I thought this was an old interview. I have heard of Harold Payne
Excellent interview. You're a good interviewer, let the guy talk and dont talk over him.
And as long as Ive seen you on here, hearing you talk is not what I would've envisioned.
Wish this guy would hang around here more. Be interesting to get his feedback on songs and his ideas on marketing.
I just did the interview the night before I posted it.
/he's been around for 23 years and used to post here but he is where the people are: facebook.
So why did you think I would sound differently? I will be doing a lot of these interviews, this was just the first. Harold may be more responsible for our success than nearly anyone else from membership. He embraced us when I went full time doing this as my only gig and it opened a lot of doors.
Thanks for watching, I hope some others will check it out.

Ill be honest, I thought you had a deeper more irritatable voice, but you sound like a nice guy.
But I rarely but the pegs together, whenever i seee a picture of somebody i have never seen after along time on a forum, im like huh? Thats him? lol. I enjoyed the interview.
