https://www.facebook.com/Zappa/videos/164865605368028Zappa's art was extreme in a genre all its own. Explore a little youtube: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=frank+zappaAnd wonder what the movie might be! Frank was offering aid to Yugoslavia (or somewhere) at the same time Vice President Dan Quayle was scheduled to make a diplomatic trip there. Suddenly Quayle was out, Dick Cheney was in, and Frank died of prostate cancer, which is the most treatable of cancers, by the way. Your doctor can give you a test, PSA Test, I think, to detect the onset of prostate cancer. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

I was a big fan of Frank, one of the earliest videos I saw was him using a bike as an instrument,Hot Rats and Overnight Sensation are classic albums, but like Neil Young he fell out with the record company and produced some throw away albums, PSA this is Prostate Specific Antigen, it's usually detected in a blood sample, which then leads to scans and biopsy, treatments are radiotherapy or surgery to remove prostate gland provided the cancer hasn't spread, it's a slow growing cancer and many men can have it for years.I urge all men over 55 who have a family history of cancer or are urinating in dribbles to get checked out. I am currently waiting for robotic surgery. all the best, john

Thank you John. As in all disease early detection can make it a lot easier to deal with.

Appreciated him as a musician, appreciated some of his music, appreciated his musicians, never could be a fan.. My impression of Zappa was a man looking down his nose at the great unwashed....

Zappa would have operated on your prostate using his trade marked zircon encrusted tweezers

I recall being in college I think and someone having one of the more explicit adult magazines with a big weird Frank Zappa series of photos that were as odd as anything he dd musically. I had never really heard of hi beyond his novelty hit that was on Dr. Demento. Here's the Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thing-Fish

Zappa was a great musician and composer. He was comedic but also a brilliant artist. The reason why nobody knows his stuff is cause he doesn't have any commercial songs or anything resembling a commercial structure.
He's basically a jazz and classical artist who found a rock n roll audience. Guitar players and musicians appreciate him most.
Hes famous for giving anti music business interviews, attacking how Music was made and how we are fed music by mainstream media .
All true, but it doesn't mean your music is great either. Much like jazz and classical it takes trained ears to appreciate it, not for every one. I think Zappa made a bigger name for himself being so outspoken than he would have if he stayed quite and made music, but hard to say.
Talented guy and his an Dweezel Is an amazing guitarist too.
Speaking of prostates.... Did you hear the one about the patient who went to get his prostate examined? Doctor says to him, "Don't be embarrassed, it's not unusual to get an erection during a prostate exam"
Patient says "I don't have an erection". Doctor says, "I know, but I do".....

9ne...are you going to Montana to buy a tiny horse and call him Mighty Little?
Can't pretend I am a huge fan and familiar with all his work, but Joe's Garage & Sheik Yerbouti were probably my favourites
I also remember Billy The Mountain as being lots of fun
