https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14143958MY DOOR IS OPEN. Rockabilly perhaps? (Lyrics by John Vaughan Music vocal and everything else Dave Lekich) My door is open if you're passing by, stop in. It’s not a palace but a warm welcome waits within There's a bench outside we can sit for a spell. A bottomless coffee pot meant for secrets not to tell. My door is open— it’s been a long long time. Not a day passes here when you're not on my mind. The well in the garden is full of nickels and dimes. I make a wish each day that you'll come my way and spare me your sweet time. The puppy’s full grown; he’s a rascal for sure. But he's great company— he keeps one eye on the door. If you want to visit, come by not just for me. I’m sure he's not forgotten you— why not drop by and see? My door is open, our chairs are by the stove. For some folks it’s always shut, but for you it’s never closed. The kitchen is so cozy, we can sit for a spell. I’ve got a bottle of whiskey meant for secrets not to tell. The puppy’s full grown; he’s a rascal for sure. But he's great company— he keeps one eye on the door. If you feel like a visit, come by not just for me. I’m sure he's not forgotten you— why not drop by and see? My door is open; it’s been a long long time. Not a day passes here when you're not on my mind. The well in the garden is full of nickels and dimes. I make a wish each day that you'll come my way and spare me your sweet time. On Oct 18, 2020, at 10:56 PM, john vaughan Sent from my Huawei phone

I think Deej has picked the perfect accompaniment to this one. When I read the lyric I wasn't blown away to be honest, but it really comes alive and reveals its hidden potential. Just goes to show that a good song is more than the sum of its lyric and melody. Very enjoyable.

This one has been nailed, period. Got my old feet tapping so simple yet so effective, a little of that's all right Mama in places but that just adds to it. Congrats both. Best, Gerry

Nice one guys - carried me back to the days of "That's Alright" and "You used to Love me (But it's all over now) Me thinks it's a little bit too close to those tunes in places but - what the hay! They were probably stolen from something else. Enjoyed it a lot Paul

Deej/John,
I certainly enjoyed this early rock/rhythm & Blues feel--sounds like an Elvis/Cash collab to me! One sug on the mando solo--perhaps share that space with an electric guitar giving it a "shared" solo to "beef" it up a bit--JMO.
Nice work both of you!
