V1 Where is the river I was promised Where is the rain they said would wash my sins away I've undone everything that I accomplished And put back every stone I overturned along the way
Bridge I want my darkness gone I want my soul set free I did what I was told What can you do for me
Cho Throw the weapon in the water Watch it go down down down Bury all the damning evidence And all the alibis that make no sense Watch the bubbles reach the surface And disappear without a trace Barefoot in dirty water While dirty rain runs down my face
V2 The salvation they screamed at me Never stopped me getting singed by the all the flames All my demons had familiar faces And all my angels sleep beneath their stones that have no names
Bridge Where did my childhood go When I became a man Is it stuck somewhere Inside this broken thing I am
Cho Throw the weapon in the water Watch it go down down down Bury all the damning evidence And all the alibis that make no sense Watch the bubbles reach the surface And disappear without a trace I'm barefoot in dirty water While dirty rain runs down my face
Bridge I want my darkness gone I want my soul set free I bowed before your throne So what's in it for me
Cho Throw the weapon in the water Watch it go down down down Bury all the damning evidence And all the alibis that make no sense Watch the bubbles reach the surface And disappear without a trace I'm barefoot in dirty water While dirty rain runs down my face

It seems that since you address "you" in your first bridge, the chorus is asking someone or many(if you is plural) to do what's in the chorus.Yet you refer to yourself in the chorus being "barefoot in dirty water" etc. Your apparent symbolisms are to complex(I didn't get them) to make this lyric commercial.

"If one man can do it, any man can do it. It is true. But the real question is, if one man did it, are you willing to do what it takes to do it as well?" –Brian Austin Whitney
