Brian recommended I use one of the feedback forums to look for a co-writer, not necessarily to request feedback at this point. Once I have a co-writer, I would appreciate that person’s providing feedback on the lyrics or music. My interest is writing lyrics for country songs. I am not a performing singer/musician, but I can provide a MP3 (vocal/guitar) with the basic music and a Word document with the chords indicated and the parts of the lyrics identified, e.g., verses, choruses, a bridge. The co-writer would be a performing singer/musician who could provide a quality recording. (The co-writer could also be a songwriter.) My son, Alan, helps me with my songs so I include him in the copyright as I would the co-writer. Here is a sad country love song. This is the male version of the lyrics. I also have slightly different lyrics for a female singer. https://soundcloud.com/user-547002904/understand-if-you-want-to-go-male-110220Understand If You Want to Go (c) 2011 Walt Lamberg and Alan Lamberg Verse 1 If you were the sunset, I’d be happy for those moments That I could spend with you at the end of the day. And if I were the morning, it would be a pleasure To share my time with you, then watch you go on your way. Chorus 1 But I am just a man, as weak and strong as any man. I’d grieve if you leave and end what we began. And I could never say with any honesty That I could understand if you want to go. I’d curse; I’d swear that I wished I had never met you. Though, of course, my dearest friend, you know that isn’t true. And I could never say with any honesty That I could understand if you want to go. . Verse 2 If I were a mockingbird, I’d sing a lovely song for you, Then fly back to my nest high up in a maple tree. And if you were a dove, perfect peace and love, I’d never try to cage you, I’d want you to be free. Chorus 1 Repeat Bridge But I am who I am and you are who you are. Why can’t that be all that we need? Chorus 2 I’d curse; I’d swear that I wished I had never met you. Though, of course, my dearest friend, you know that isn’t true. And I could never say with any honesty That I could understand if you want to go.
