So if you've been following this thread, you know I am a big fan of these Chinese guitars ...so much so that I bought 2 acoustic electrics, an acoustic bass and a Les Paul imitation about 8 or so years ago and encouraged everyone who was considering buying a new guitar to get one, hell, even if you already had one... The 2 acoustic electrics I bought for about $150 Cdn each are now selling for between $600 and $850. I'd say $850 given the description, but it's hard to really say because they simply don't make the same models anymore. But they now have a "Custom" line which would today include mine, for that price. My acoustic bass, still on sale, went from $139 to $850, and they do not offer up my Les Paul imitation (then about $150) anymore. I can say that for what I paid for all four back then will not even buy one now... Did anybody else take my advice a few years back and buy one?? I said here (about 5 years ago) that this would happen, and it has far exceeded my expectations...I said they would at least double in price but to go from $150 to $850 is 467% appreciation in 8 to 9 years. http://www.jpfolks.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/769347/page/3#Post769347

Interesting. I see SX guitars advertised on the Rondo Music site but they are not very expensive. Perhaps Rondo does not carry the same ones?

Rondo has actually been carrying fewer and fewer SX models over the past two three years. I assume it has to do with how the manufacturer has repositioned itself. TEAM International now sells mass manufactured cheapies and a higher priced line of hand made custom guitars. Here's their site http://www.sx-guitar.com/

I sold my American tele buy some expensive software and bought a butterscotch SX tele from a bro in town for $65.00. Fret ends are rough, machines need upgrade as it's fussy about staying in tune.
Works well enough though. Sounds like a tele..

People tend to buy the electrics and then customize them. And had you bought it direct from Rondo, it is likely you could have exchanged it.
Having said that---how is it now??
