This came about one night when suffering from some insomnia. If you notice your thoughts go all over the place and that makes it hard to sleep This was an experiment, fusing progressive and punk rock. Genesis meets The Clash Kind of rattles the nerves... I think i have a pretty wicked hook here, it's not finished but here is a sample recording http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13542879The Insomnia Song (I got alot on my mind) I gotta get movin' I gotta get a job everyone I know thinks i'm a lazy slob...and then some Look at my belly look at my hair where does the time go that sh*** aint fair...and then some So the story goes where it stops no one knows I got alot on my mind... Ahhh, I got a lot on my mind, yeah Ahhh, I got a lot on my mind, yeah Where are my buddies from yester year someone send me a message lets have a beer...and then some The woman at the bank's flirting ways Jamie Lee Curtis before the Yogurt days I'm sick of the news aint nothin but blood left winger moods right winger duds...and then some I'll never be ready to leave this place but how will I finish in the human race...and then some So the story goes where it stops no one knows I got alot on my mind... Ahhh, I got a lot on my mind, yeah Ahhh, I got a lot on my mind, yeah

That's a solid rocker if I've ever known one :-)
I like the lyrics a lot. The little appendix gives it that certain something.
The song's title should be "(I) got a lot on my mind", of course. Hooks aren't that important in rock music but if one suggests itself I'd grab it.
The distortion in the lift is overdone. Sounds like/could be digital clipping - rather annoying than cool.
Cheers, Bernd

Thanks for your comments. It's just a rough take.
You like the lyrics. But to me, the lyric plays second fiddle to the hook in this one
The title of the song is not always the hook.
The progressiv musical riff and the vocal line is the hook in this song
I could toy with the idea of changing the title, but it's what your hearing, not what your reading
