Before I ship this out to a client. Wondering which of these sound better. One I'm using a stereo spread effect, the other just a smidgen of reverb. I'd send them both, but I don't want the client to think I don't know what I'm doing. grin If this was a classical track, I'd definitely go without the FX. But the FX may work better in the popular music realm.

Hi John,

My ears told me that they liked the NO FX slightly better.

But the difference is very subtle, and I don't know if my ears liked it better because it was the first one they heard, OR because they truly did like it better.

Ears are fickle like that.

My ears also whispered to me that they enjoyed the beauty of both!

I think I agree with Lisa. I felt the NO FX version was easier to listen to. The one with FX seemed to be slightly disorienting to me with my headphones on.....like a surround effect was moving around me and I couldn't quite nail down the feeling of the tune. Hope this helps.

Thanks Lisa & Fred. Big help. After hearing your opinion, I think the "no FX" would be the safer route to go.

best, John smile

I also like the no FX and seemed to experience the same thing Fred pointed out. I think the image widening effect causes some kind of artifact with certain notes.

Please don't tell me they are the same smile
