dannyk1 wrote this lyric for the Nonsense Challenge at FAWM, so the lyric is not supposed to make sense. I enjoyed it and put a quick melody to it and we found free animal sounds online and Danny did a great job mixing this and adding the animal sounds. It is meant to be joyous and fun and hope it brings a smile to your face, it always makes me smile. Ok. Wow.
So this is really clever, but it's also really embarrassing. I don't know if the problem is that the tempo's a little too fast or that it sounds like you don't really know the song yet. I'm assuming it's a one-take recording? Maybe if you practiced it a little more, you'd get a better take. But maybe you don't wanna spend that much time on the song.
There are some cadence issues, especially in the 2nd verse, where I think a little more lyric-tweaking would help to sort things out and make the words flow better.
I think whichever of you wrote these lyrics has quite a knack for words. The more songs you write, the better you'll get at it. Have a great day!
JJ.

I am not sure what "embarrassing" means up above, but I would have no problem putting up that song if it was mine. I enjoyed my listen over at FAWM and here again.
You and Danny make a good team. Here's to hoping you all do more collabs. Definitely a fine children's song that adults can enjoy, too.

Guys,
Mmmmmmmmmmmmoooooooh!
If a song has animal sounds, I know I will enjoy it! I love to make moo sounds too. Fun is always cool, and sure a sophisticated production could enhance this, but I'm evaluating a raw performance, so with that in mind--cool concept, kids would love this!

Tammy/Danny,
A very cute song. This could be a children's classic. But, for kids to sing along, it would need to slowed down some. It would be very cool to get a bunch of kids to sing the chorus with you!

This was so much fun! I agree with Floyd. It would so cool to have a boatload of pre-schoolers making this their own! :0

Cute...couple suggests....
slow down the tempo about 5bpm--it feels rushed.
if you're gonna do animal noises let them come at the end of lines and not compete with your vocal...
otherwise....nice!

Hey Mike,
Glad you enjoyed it! I had fun writing it and was snickering a bit to myself while writing the lyric. When Tammy said she'd give it a go, I was happy because I know she has turned out some really good children's songs. My favorite part was mixing in the animal sounds. By the way, that was Tammy's suggestion. She is a lot of fun to work with.
Peace, Danny

What a fun listen. Maybe slow down just a tad and as Zeek has suggested, reposition the animal sounds. Reminds me something Joni Mitchell would sing. Great. Vic

They decided they would jump the broom-- 'cause they wanted to jump the broom...may sing easier? and when Danny wrote jump the broom is there a double meaning here of getting married? As African Americans sometimes use in marriage ceremonies as an old slave tradition - jumping the broom.. just wondering..if so that is supercool. teaches acceptance of marriage equality in a sly way..ya know? marriage of two different species..;) When in strolled a chow saying to the cow- -asking the brown cow instead of saying and brown would tie in on rhyme- KOS How did you ever get over the moon Chorus Different species, Reeses pieces Butterfinger found its Almond Joy Cracker Jack was holding back 'Til in the box he found a little toy I am offering lyrical advice because I feel this could become something children really wanna hear, it is so fun...so I hope you both will consider addressing some of the small issues and make a full on demo of this. Great fun. 1- I would slow it down some..but not too much...so a child could sing along to it's chorus. 2- As another poster mentioned, the cadence is off in a few places, especially verse two..which I noted where I heard it off some...do with it what you will. You two make a good team. I offered a lot of crit. and hope I did not overstep but the song lit something in me and that usually happens when I enjoy something. good luck on this Kimberly

Hey Tammy,
I thought this was incredibly clever, both the lyric and the fun melody you brought to it. Total kids song that would go over fantastically in classrooms across the world. I loved it. Kudos to both of you.

Hey Kevin, Thanks for stopping in over here too. I didn't understand the embarrassing bit either. It was a lot of fun for me and it sounds like Tammy was having fun with it too.
I still can't figure out what that Joejohnstun or Kim is talking about where the cadence is involved. Oh well, maybe I'm a little too close to it.
Thanks again Kevin,
Danny

Tammy,
okay, now that I've heard it.......it doesn't sound too fast to me, it actually rolls along really well, though the animal noises were really distracting to my ears.
The candy references in the chorus are sweet (see what I did there?)....but they felt/sounded a bit odd to me. Over all a really happy/congenial melody and performed well....y'all gettin' purdy slick onat gitar.
