We did 2 of our awards shows there.. .loved that place for that purpose... sorry to hear it closed, but wasn't sure if it ever reopened?

I read on line, maybe a year or so ago, rthat it no longer exists as a theatre. it was going to be razed for a small shopping center it was the areticle said. I went on Google Street View to look for it and it's not there.
I had one helluva good time there...nominated for best song but didn't win. Regardless, it was fun. I enjoyed it here. wish they'd had a better sound guy, though. Also, the photographer left a lot to be desired. But those are indigenous to the theatre. And yeah, I get a little sad thinking about it!

Brian,
I just went on Street View again, about 3 minutes ago, and guess what...the Galaxy Theatre apparently is reopened! There is a marquee on the street (South Harbor Blvd) and it has a list of acts and performances coming up. The Google map was dated this year, 2013. So, it looks like the shopping center never materialized and someone reopened the facility. If so, that's great news!!!!
When I checked for the theatre on Street View a year or so ago, there was no signage of any kind for it. Now there is!

Cool... I will have to ask a local about what it is like inside now. We had 2 great evenings there... sound and photos aside... (Nashville was the most painful as our video crew kept the footage, never delivered it after we'd paid 90% of it and disappeared. They also turned off our camera which was set to a wide shot as a back up/failsafe. I've had the worst luck on photographers over the years, but we do have some wonderful shots nonetheless.
