Hey ... following Blues as a root, I'd like to have a comparable guitar partner with at least Harmony VOCAL Ability for two-fold purpose:
1. Showcase original works around the state and Festivals around the South ie; SXSW in Austin, IBC here in Florida and Memphis and Jacksonville's American Songwriting thing on Oct 5/13.
2. Do Blues-style cover gigs within a two hour radius of Tampa.
Think Eric Clapton's Unplugged album. EC and his partner Andy Fairweather Low. Not a 'jam', or, 'open mic' situation. I have incredible PA, Transportation, best gear and, 40 years of verifiable experience in the music BUSINESS - USA, Europe and Canada.
I play well with others (when evenly matched), am substance abuse free, and play with much entertainment value. Married heterosexual, homeowner, dog-lovin', Harley ridin', son-of-a-love-my-guns, church-goin' fella. Don't wear baseball hats, dress respectfully to the artform, and, don't fart (a lot) on stage. Willing to blend your tunes with mine as long as genre stays consistent.
Easy goin', non-combative, don't care to discuss politics, abortion or sexuality. Just a quiet kind of guy with a superior focus.
I have a beautiful, private studio - 24/7 access in Clearwater to get the job done. Full marketing & promo at my expense.
Needs ta makes muneez & havz sum funz!!

Things have slowed down significantly the past couple years. I still read this board usually about three times a week. I also still see people I originally met through this board. In fact, I saw about a half dozen a week ago.
I'm not sure what it would take to get this chapter going again. Probably need someone to take the reins and schedule a meeting or jam or showcase or some other event. I was too busy 10 years ago to step into that position and am still too busy.
Papos did try to get things going again a year or two ago with some open mics. I attended one or two, but I'm not really interested in open mics, at least not on a weekly basis. Apparently, neither were a lot of other JPF-ers.
I'm also not interested in performing on a regular basis in a blues group of any size. Sorry.
I know Colin and Tampa Stan still post a lot on the JPF boards. I see you have only posted less than 30 times in 9 years. That is not a lot of activity. It takes active participants for an active board and chapter.

Ahhh ... there IS life ! Thanks Andy ... I looked around last year and posted a couple similar things and Tampa Stan & Colin were the only two who wrote. Hope everyone's OK! Anyways, please define 'regular basis' from your reply to me. I'm all eyes & ears. Would you be interested in JUST the original music show? This would be targeted, high-end events geared towards a 'career' move. I'm 60 and unemployed so I need the 'cover' show for local stuff as much as possible. For the cover show, I'd go under a different name and use somebody else if somebody else exists Oopps ... I might add, my Blues is not a night of 12-bar covers. I'm not black, and, have never picked cotton, nor ever experienced the past those folks did. My works are, shall I say, are a few more patterns and movements than 1-4-5 but still qualify to be sitting in the Blues genre. My web site will be up in the next couple weeks where I'll have segments of my songs posted for perusal.

For the past 20 years, I've been playing in a classic rock cover band that only does 3 to 8 gigs a year, mostly private parties, block parties, office parties, stuff like that. I'm happy with this and don't want to publicly perform more than that.

HiYa Bluez and BroAndy!!!
Thought I'd check in here a bit...since I've sorty Been Gone a Long While..heh!
As of Dec 1st. Bulldozers'll be roarin' thru my Clock Shop properties, making-ready for yet-another Medical Mausoleum on MacDill Ave. Renting 2 storefronts on Cypress Ave for storage and Re-opening Clock Biz, 3 days a week for me/6 for my Assistant, as I semi-Retire.
WHICH'll free me up BIGTIME to (Hopefully) learn an Instrument/Get back onstage & sing some of the 2K Songs-Penned over the last Decade-Plus here.
Aug 1st I head off to Nashville to record a 'Nam Remembrance CD, "Still Coming Back from The War" with JPF Mentor Mike Dunbar's Co-Writing/Recording Help. 10-13 Songs total...NOT all of 'em War Stories..."Glad I'm Better-Lookin' (Than My Photo I.D.)" bein' one, f'rinstance. First CD I've recorded in half a Decade, thanks to The Recession.
I'd be interested in meetin' witCha, Bluez...813-875-2707's the Shop Phone/Recorder's on 24/7.
Continued Good Luck Andy...and All the Tampa MusicMakers I've met at JPF over the Years!!!
Best Wishes & a matched pair of Big Guy-Hugs, Stan

Hi Stan,
There has been a sudden surge of interest in "It's OK To Cry" on my website over the past week. I'm not sure what has triggered it and I've been too busy to investigate.

Thanks, Bob. It is a co-write with Tampa Stan Good. Fellow Tampa JPF members Kathy Stafford sang the lead vocals and Robert Rose played piano. One of the many chapter collaborations we were doing about 5 to 7 years ago. We need to get back into that mode.
Andy
