Hey Paul,
The FMR RNC is a very well-regarded low-end compressor, known mostly for it's transparency. I have heard many people state that they actually prefer to use the FMR RNLA as well.
Another good affordable compressor is the ART VLA Pro II...more colored sound than the FMR.
