A friend who is a much better musician than I am taught me this little picking pattern and since I am sidelined right now with plenty of time on my hands I turned it into the following song. All critiques will be gratefully returned. Thanks for the listen. https://soundcloud.com/bobby-wayne/pity-partyThrowing A Pity Party There’s dust upon my running shoes, cobwebs on my bike, This busted knee’s been keeping me from doing the things I like. And my woman’s she’s growin’ tired of me always mopin’ around the house, She used to be so in to me, now I’m beginning to have my doubts. Chorus: So I’m throwing a Pity Party, not inviting anyone else, Yes I’m a throwing a Pity Party, and feeling sorry for myself. I forgot to feed my dog again, the neighbors picked up the slack, He just stopped by to let me know that he won’t be coming back. Now I apologized repeatedly and I promised to change my ways, But he just grinned, shook my hand, now he hasn’t been back for days. Chorus: So I’m throwing a Pity Party, not inviting anyone else, Yes I’m a throwing a Pity Party, and feeling sorry for myself. Bridge: It wasn’t all that long ago, all my skies were blue and clear, I hardly even noticed when that first dark cloud appeared, But then the others quickly followed and that rain began to fall, Now I’m here with no umbrella feeling battered by it all. Now I see people every day just as happy as can be, Holding hands and exchanging smiles, kissing tenderly. And I should be happy for them but I really just wish they’d stop, For though it shames me to admit it’s true, it’s beginning to piss me off. Chorus: So I’m throwing a Pity Party, not inviting anyone else, Yes I’m a throwing a Pity Party, and feeling sorry for myself, Yes I’m throwing a Pity Party, and feeling sorry for myself.
