EVH was distinctive. His solos all sound the same. Soulless.

Jeff Beck's Truth does not sound like Led Zep 1 which doesn't sound like Disraeli Gears.

Paul McCartney played the solos in Taxman and Good Morning, Good Morning. Both are distinctive, memorable and stick in my gut more than anything EVH played.

Or Pat Methany.

EVH changed the guitar alright...he ruined it. And he couldn't write songs. There are maybe five good Van Halen tunes in a 30 year career.

In Memory of Elizabeth Reed on side three of Live at the Fillmore East is better than all of Van Halen combined.
