I posted this a few days ago, but I just made some edits...added a bridge...
It ain't hard to feel lonesome on the road movin' from here to there and back again then all alone If I could just have my way You'd be right by my side today And we'd make love all night long
It may take 40 days or 40 nights But I promise you girl we'll get through this allright, alright If you just promise me to keep on loving me like I love you Nothin' could ever break a bond that strong
(bridge) This long distance love affair ain't fair It just keeps me up past dawn I'm just a- wonderin' how you're doin' I just can't keep from wonderin' all day long...
<solos over verse>
It won't be long now baby til I'm back home It seems like a hundred years or more, that I've been gone I can't wait to see you girl You got a way to keep me kind in this mean old world And there ain't nowhere else I belong Then to be there holdin' you in my arms Then I won't need this sad country song And we'll make love all night long

Hi, Froodo. Looks like I'm the first to check this one out. It's a good 'un 'though I had a little trouble with the rhythmn in the second line of each verse. However, after a couple of readings, I think I can see how it works although the mental melody I put to it probably doesn't do it justice. I'm not sure about the "If you just promise me to Keep on lovin' me like I love you" bit though. It means you have to put unwarranted emphasis on the word "to" which sounds a little forced. Otherwise a good country song. I don't know if anyone else will feel the same as me about those lines. If they do, I hope they can come up with useful suggestions. My brain's just blipped into 'screen-saver' mode.

I like the idea. In fact, I wrote one called "Long Distance Love."
