Hi Folks:
Mike Z. completed his latest demo for me... of my original song, "Whiskey Makes You Go Away" and I was delayed in posting it at my page over at SYM due to the birth of my Great-Grandson, Jackson St. Clair down in Round Rock, Texas.
Click on the link below and it will take you to my page at SYM where "Whiskey" is the first song on the list of three songs.
I can't tell you how pleased I am with every song Mike has done for me... and at bargain-basement prices. Those of you here who have worked with Mike know what a treat it is.
Thanks for listening... and "thank you," Mike Z.
----Dave
NOTICE: Please see Mike Zaneski's post below with a new link to this song. (I roll over my playlist at SYM at least once a week.)

Hi Calvin:
Thanks for sharing "Good Girls and Bad Boys"... I'm amazed at the adaptability of Zaneski. Glad you liked "Whiskey"... and Jackson is doing well. We expect they will be going home from the hospital today or tomorrow.

Dave,
What a great listen!
Nice title/hook! The music was not what I expected, but Man! is it sweet! Kind of R&B-Country with a side of Latin. Kept hold of my ear from start to finish...unique, original... some great lines - would have liked to see a lyric posted to follow along...
Mike did a super job. All parts are good - but I was super impressed with the harmonies - he does that SO well...
That's a keeper!

Thanks, Mr. LeBlanc:
Zaneski is probably one of the most versatile demo artists I've ever run across. Thanks for giving "Whiskey" a spin.
Can't wait to see that baby again. Thank goodness, he looks nothing like his G-G-F!

Dave,
I really like the music vibe as well as the song. Great production and performance now doubt from Mr. Z. Everything's well balance IMO with the mix. Good luck with it!

Hi Eddie:
Thanks for taking time to listen to "Whiskey." Mike makes it all sound so easy... and he does it well. I'll probably bury my recording of the song... or keep it for some comedy act needing a sad vocal for background music... LOL!

Hey Ricki:
I'm so sorry! Every few days I post a new set of songs in order to keep my "audience of three" interested in my music. I took down Mike's demo songs about an hour ago.
Hopefully, next week Mike will be doing another demo song for me and I'll tack up "Whiskey Makes You Go Away" along with the new Demo Mike has in the queue for this week.
He has been a fantastic resource for me and I'm going to do at least an "album's worth" of songs with him so it will make "pitching" a little easier.
If waiting is not something you care to do, send me a PM with your E-mail Addy and I'll send you an MP3 of "Whiskey!"
All the best, ----Dave

Hi Martin:
I hope you saw the "link" Mike Zaneski was kind enough to post two spaces above yours... if not, please be our guest and give it a spin. Of all the demos Mike has done for me up to this point, this one ("Whiskey") is my favorite.
You may wonder why the original link led you somewhere else. As I explained to Ricki, I "roll over" my playlist often at SYM in order to keep my ratings at the top of the heap there. This week, I rolled the list a little early because I'm expecting to be out of town again and unable to take those needed steps.
We have some slight concerns about our new Great-Grandson's health.

Saw the link. Heard the song. Very nice song Dave. And Mike...the music was appealing and interesting at the same time. Sweet stuff. Vocal melody reminded me a little of Sade Adu.
I hope the new baby pulls through in good shape,
Martin

Hi Vic:
Nice of you to take time away from your holiday across the channel. Tinny laptop speakers are not fair... but better than nothing at all. Enjoy yourself and I hope you give Paris a "wide berth" due to the recent troubles.
Looking forward to hearing more of your always enjoyable songs.

Tried to listen Dave. All I see are these songs: 01. You Cant Measure Love 02. Loves Last Race 03. To Fall in Love 04. The Other Side of BlueAnd they won't play for me. Am I missing something? Probably, dopey me. Best, John

Hi John:
I've been kicking myself for being such a "fuss-budget" and taking down a set of Mike's demos. I replace my playlist at SYM fairly often in order to keep my little band of listeners interested. Mike was kind enough to re-post a different link after my error in judgment.
Look at his link about eight posts above yours.
SYM is notorious for not playing properly in automatic mode. Usually, when this happens, click on any song and it will appear unless they forgot to pay their rent again... LOL!
Let me know if Mike's link does not work.
Regards and thanks for trying. ----Dave

OK, I found Mike Z's link (maybe post that back on your first post). Mike Z does a great job, doesn't he? Good instrumentation and the vocals really sound fine. An age old tale done just right.

Hi Barry:
I had to sign a "confidentiality agreement" with Mike... so, my lips are sealed. I can tell you it was less than a Thousand Dollars, though!
My Compadre in Texarkana pays a Nashville Demo Mill about $700 for each song and that's with no harmonies.
Send Mike a PM and I'll bet he will make a prolific guy like you a real deal with a quantity discount.
Thanks for listening. ----Dave

Wow! There're too many good things going here to begin listing them all. Floyd really nailed it with "That's a keeper!"
- the write - the vocals and instrumental tracks - the arrangement - the mix - the groove
Everything works. Anybody that wants to nit pick this one is gonna need quite the imagination.
Outstanding.

Thanks Janice, thanks Bud. Dave has an amazing compositional voice. His melodic phrasing is unique, and his verses and choruses rarely are boxy 8, 12, or 16 bar things and so feel really fresh and unpredictable. Thanks for the nice compliments. **************************************************************** Hi Bob, Thanks a million. I appreciate you listening and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Hi Ricki:
Thanks for taking the time and trouble to return and listen. Mike Zaneski is an expert arranger of existing compositions and songs... and his harmonies are amazing. Couple that with his accompanying instrument selection and I am in awe of his talent.
Your comments are so very much appreciated.

I was certainly pleased with Mike's artistry on this (and everything he seems to touch) and I'm hoping to begin pitching this one soon. Along those same lines, he just completed another for me today... and I'm hoping he will "tack it up" here at JPF for folks to hear. It's called, "Twenty Miles from Nova Scotia."
Our G-G-S, Jackson is doing well after giving us a little scare that first week... gaining weight nicely now! Thanks for the congrats... and for taking the time to listen. We appreciate it very much. ---Dave (the other one... LOL!)

Your talented thoughts mean so much. I'll bet Mike is pleased to be compared to Steely Dan... but ya' know... he does create that vibe every now and then in his vocals.

Hi Tom: The ShowCaseYourMusic Link below each of my posts actually had several of Mike's Demos of my songs. Unfortunately, I take away the songs posted there about once each week and replace them with another set. Mike Zaneski was kind enough to provide a new link later to his page at Soundcloud... now listed below: https://soundcloud.com/michael-zaneski/whiskey-makes-you-go-awaySorry for the "missing link!" ----Dave

Hi Dave,
I really like the feel to this. The hook melody is lingering in my head right now...a good thing! It would be nice to read the lyric, although I can make out everything; it would just absorb more into my brain on a listen that I’m going to comment on. But I caught “Your memory stays behind”, a cool thought...and “Life was just like peach parfait”...a bright image that jumps out. Mike delivered a gritty, expressive arrangement for you and his attention to detail is front and center. The harmonies are cool as they dig in and hold on! Enjoyed it! Kristi

Hi Kristi:
Thank you for taking time to listen and comment. Mike Zaneski has completed six demos of my songs and I have not been disappointed with a single result. To me, his musicality and multiple talents, coupled with his unheard of generosity will eventually make him an American Icon. I am eager to hear the demo he is working on for me right now.
My plan includes doing a complete album with his gritty vocals.
I'm so pleased to know this song caught your ear and imagination... and that you cared enough to tell us about it.
