Great weekend for all....... https://soundcloud.com/bobby-earl-ray-1/let-her-go-so-she-wont-leave-youLet Her Go So She Won’t Leave You By Debbie Convoy and Bobby Earl Ray (debsk8r@aol.com) Verse She slowly sweeps the kitchen She feels so restless in her skin Her eyes stare out the window Recalling all her dreams from way back when Pre-chorus Before the dark clouds surround her, She needs to soar again Chorus Let her go so she won’t leave you She still has starlight in her eyes Love her more than you need to Let her go so she won’t leave you Verse Long ago she made a promise She’d settle down and start a life She gave up all her selfish passions To be a mother and a wife Chorus Let her go so she won’t leave you She still has starlight in her eyes Love her more than you need to Let her go so she won’t leave you Bridge She chases rainbows ‘cause she has to… She’ll come back to you in time Chorus Let her go so she won’t leave you She still has starlight in her eyes Love her more than you need to Let her go so she won’t leave you

I really enjoyed listening, really good production, nice job all around but I can't help feeling like the story needs a little more development. What did she leave behind for becoming a wife and mother? Did you mean to keep that a secret? Might be nice if an added verse created a unsuspected twist/ending. Maybe the singer becomes a secret lover she left behind? Just a thought, keep or sweep Skip

Bobbie, this sounds great, well written, performed and produced.
Just one tiny thing, in V2, the second line, I'd say "start a NEW life", reinforcing that she already had one and then gave it up. I don't know that being more specific as to what she gave up really matters, but that's just me. Well done.
Ricki

Hey Bobby, still killing it, eh?
This sounds great. The mix of all the cool musical bits, the vocals / harmonies and the over all production, is pro stuff.
Hats off to Ya.
*** The pedal steel was the icing on the cake.

Hi Bobby,
It does sound GREAT!
One line that kind of bugged me was that she gave up all her selfish passions to become a mother and a wife. It seems to me that becoming a mother and/or a wife are as selfish as any other passions. I don't like the popular concept of being a mother or wife meaning that you gave up something. I always think the woman (or man) GAINED something! In this song, it makes me dislike the woman just a bit ... Also, any passion that a person has to pursue something certainly can't be called a selfish passion anyway ... if it fulfills the person, I wouldn't call it selfish ... now, if she walks out on her children to fulfill it, then it could be that she'd be falling into the selfish category...

Hey Ricky... I realize I spend too much time on the recordings, and not enough time to thoroughly examine the lyrics I record. I did the composition and production, and my partner Debbie wrote the lyrics. I truly appreciate you listening, and wanted to send my compliments on your treatment of Lisa's song.. Great Job on your part...Thanks!!!- Bobby

I agree about the "gave up selfish passions" line. It's an easy fix though to say "she gave up all her other passions" instead. That gives equal weight to all of them. Very nice song apart from that.
Hmmm! I just noticed that although that line is written you don't seem to be singing it. Vic

Hi Bobby:
No nits 'cause I know it isn't your lyric. I do agree with Lisa about the wife and motherhood part... but this collaboration has real possibilities... and you certainly did your part. Excellent vocal and production. Best of luck with it. ----Dave

We enjoyed it...all of it. You did a great job with the arrangement and the parts you played...big studio sound to my ears and it sounds fine on my monitors.
Kudos all the way around!

Bobby, you sure went full bore on the production. Lisa made an excellent point about the lyric and Vic's fix makes sense. Your musicianship and production values are outstanding. Keep up the good work.

Good production and great vocal, I picked up on Vic's observations too but a minor thing. Great song all the best with it Travis
