http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13155364 My Bank Full Of Green Bought Me The Blues (Neil Cotton) We had a good ride through the years Then I kind of jammed a gear Was stuck in drive to making more For my team in those corporate wars When you said we were through My bank full of green had bought me the blues I thought hard work was enough But time away had added up You lost interest over time Warm kisses turned to cold bye byes When you said you were through My bank full of green had bought me the blues ~B I wish I had listened when you complained That you can’t go alone on a double date I had tunnel vision most of the time But some where there my heart went blind I learned money can’t insure love The big thing you felt deprived of. The bluest blues I ever knew My bank full of green bought me the blues I wish I had listened when you complained That you can’t go alone on a double date When you said you were through My bank full of green had bought me the blues

I like the song. The lyrics are good and it fits the style.
I think you could sing this better after hearing some of your other tunes. There are significant intonation issues. The meter of the vocals is pretty good though.
There is an audible edit when you sing the last 'bank' - some type of discontinuity in the audio there. The bridge needs work - holding onto 'complained' like that just isn't working for me.
I would have liked a harmonica or guitar solo somewhere in there, too. It's blues, baby! Let it all hang out...
Peace, TC

The title got me to give this one a listen. I like the story. The structure works for this one. It could be tightened up on the syllables. The only weak spot IMO is the bridge. I know you're capable of bringing this to a better climax. If you keep the lyrical bridge to two lines you could jam a little with a musical bridge as well. I'd also think about losing the drums on the hook line. There may seem to be a lot of recommendations here. The truth is .. I loved this song. I'd like to hear Round 2.

TC and summeoyo ...you each have given me support & the will to work on this with some good suggestions...round 2 will be happening. The vocals will be redone. I will try killing the drums on the hook-line. I had considered it and went part way with no rhythm guitar. The bridge will be revisited. Later eh?
