Here is a new recording of one of my songs, Back to You. Back to You by Colin Ward V1 Ever since I left home, I've been waiting for the day To hold you in my arms again, in the city by the bay Left to find my fortune, travel near and far Should have taken you with me, wouldn't be sitting in this bar Without you................I can't get back to you Chorus I'm in a boat out on the ocean, with water coming in I'm in a plane up in the sky, with a pilot drunk on gin I'm in a train that passed the station, that's running out of track I'm driving down a one way street, with no way to get back To You,.....................I can't get back to you V2 I didn't know I'd miss you, when I set out on this trip I thought I'd find some other girls, when I needed just a sip But soon I came to realize, you should have come along I'm sad and lonely now because, leaving you was wrong I'm without you,.................I can't get back to you Chorus Bridge I know you had to stay at home, couldn't come along We need to be together, that's where we both belong, Instrumental, V1, Chorus

Cool tune Colin. Good guitar work. The chorus reminds me of "spirit in the sky"
Sounds like a Clapton outtake. Enjoyed

A rockin' little record I want my jockey to play!!! Nice guitar fills by the way. Very tastefully done.

Hey Colin,
I wasn't ready with this direction with you, but a pleasant surprise. I like the song, a little blues/rock sound going on here. The one thing that I felt might be worth looking at IMO, but I'm not sure without hearing--This music has a niteclub sound and feel almost as it might be a song a band would record live, and my point then might be to have the lead vox back a little more in the mix to fit that nightclub feel. I do though like that lead vox coming forward a bit as it does at the song's ending.
Just a thought for experimentation and take it a little more "garage" sounding kind of like those acoustics in the Black Pearl ehh?
Nice job all!
steady-eddie.

Hi Colin I think this turned out really nice. I do feel there are a few places the lyric sounds crowded to me, but it may be just me and I am not really sure you are wanting to make any changes since it seems like a professional recording so I will leave it at that unless you wanna know my thoughts
The music is great fun and the lyrics are good! I just feel in places it sounds overly crowded..

Ed and Kim,
Thanks for your suggestions but this one is in the can. I've been playing it live this way for several years.....this is just a new recording with the full band.

"Colin"
"Here is a new recording of one of my songs"
I interpreted that to be a new song,
but on behalf of Kim and myself, we're so sorry, Uncle Colin, but we haven't done a bloody thing all day, we're so sorry, Uncle Colin, but the kettle's on the boil and we're so easily called away!
It is a cool song mate!

Hi Colin. It does have that live quality in the band. Maybe add a little of the same effect on the vocal so it sounds like it's all in the same room.

Sounds good, now you've made Vic and me happy! Possibly a little more verb on the vox would still be ok..... Nice job, steady-eddie.

Collin,
I really enjoyed your song! Loved how the guitars and piano worked together seamlessly. The arrangement was tight without loosing that free flowing casual vibe. Thanks for sharing!
