DRY CREEK STORM
STAND UP MY SISTERS---GREAT TREES STAND TALL, ONLY THE WEAK ONES CAUSE A BREAK AND THEN FALL; YOU HAVE TO SHOW COURAGE AND STRENGTHEN TO BEND, ONLY THEN WILL WE SEE THE BEAUTY WITHIN.
(CHORUS)
DON'T CRY FOR DADDY---HE'S HAPPY I KNOW, BE PRAYING FOR MOTHER---SHE'S LONESOME AND COLD; REQUEST ARE UNSPOKEN---SOME THINGS LEFT UNTOLD, LONELY CAN HURT YOU ---BODY AND SOUL; SO DON'T CRY FOR DADDY---HE'LL NEVER GROW OLD, BE PRAYING FOR MOTHER---HE'LD TELL US SO.
STAND UP MY BROTHERS---HELP CARRY HER LOAD, SHE'S ALREADY WALKED THROUGH THE RAIN AND THE SNOW; YOU CAN'T SEE SORROW WITHOUT FEELING THE PAIN, AND YOU'LL NEVER SEE A RAINBOW WITHOUT FEELING THE RAIN.

Well hello Convallaria Majalis...and welcome to JPF
Gotta love it when the title does not appear in the body....
This reads well, and flows nicely...so should sing easily. Add some strong images and lines, and I think this goes a long way to being good.
IT may be a bit short...though of course and arrangement could have a musical bridge and the chorus can be repeated...it has a good message in it.
All together pretty solid...
Ciao
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

Hi Lilly of the Valley..... Well I'm not smart enough to know that Convallaria Majalis is the scientific name for the plant... Lilly of the Valley... I had to look it up on google! lol I enjoyed the read and your lyric. For me, the second verse is the strongest. In the first verse... the line YOU HAVE TO SHOW COURAGE AND STRENGTHEN TO BEND, kind of made me stumble. Seems to me, and I am NOT good with lyrics, it should be strength not strengthen. Are you trying to say something like.... It takes strength and courage to bend? Or even You have to show courage and strength to bend. (?) Very minor point and perhaps I'm missing your point. Thanks for the opportunity to read.

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
