I somehow have the feeling that this isn't your TRUE feeling regarding cops. It's like any other occupation, as there are both the good ones and the not so good. Ironically, some of the folks who have been pushing for more police protection are the same ones that back in the day were calling them "pigs". But I am concerned that we seem to be becoming more of a police state today. In Chicago there are security guards at some McDonald's locations even in broad daylight, for example.

This oozes vitriol Jim lol.Like Brian said possibly not your true feelings or are they?
I'm not a great fan of the boys in blue, especially the traffic cops.However they do a job which can
be challenging, having to deal with some of the characters we have around our streets today.

I think these are my true feelings. There are even guards in the Vanderbilt libraries here in Nashville. Such a thing was unthinkable in the 70s.

If this is how you feel fair enough. I think the problem in the UK is there are so many plastic policemen(community cops) who know bugger all.

You are echoing what I said in an earlier post about there being security guards, sometimes even armed, at some McDonald's location even in broad daylight. Hasn't happened at the one in my town, at least not yet anyway, and hope it never does. Do you think some are using the 911 attacks as a reason to move more toward a police state? By the way, do they still have the non-music issues forum on this board like they did when I first joined?
