I had the pleasure of opening for the great Richard Thompson at Tampa Theatre this past Friday evening. A frightening talent, but a true gentleman. Here's a link to some pics if anyone is interested: http://tampatheatre.smugmug.com/Music/Ri...48574&k=kNG86qR Cheers, Steve R.

Nice one Steve! That must have been quite a thrill. I've seen RT many times.
Great pics

That one slipped by me but I know Bruce was there. I saw RT last year(?) at the Palladium doing his one man acoustic show. Keep us posted on your next outing.

Congrats Steve! He's a songwriter's songwriter for sure and anyone would be proud to share the stage with a legend like him. Nice to hear he's a nice guy. I've found, thankfully, more often than not, these long time famous artists are good people... which likely helps them with their longevity and peer acclaim!
Kudos to you,
Brian

Thanks guys. Brian, yeah, Richard's a real gent. He stopped by on his way to the stage to tell us he enjoyed the set and then mentioned us twice from the stage, which was very cool of him. Funnily enough, my first ever solo show was opening for Richard back in the early 90s. Talk about "in at the deep end"!

Wow. I am a huge RT fan, myself and am glad to hear that he is such a good guy. Helluva songwriter and world-class guitar player. Pretty unreal to watch the guy do what he does with 6 strings and his bare fingers. Congratulations, Steve. That is an awesome gig!
