Can anyone tell me how to avoid or get rid of the annoying buzzing sound that's begun to appear on anything I record using Audacity?
The buzzing seems to have started just in the past couple of months. I'm sure I didn't have this problem earlier.
I'm on an iMac, and use a Logitech USB headset.
An intense online search for a solution has brought up only one reasonable-sounding suggestion: use an external USB hub for the mic. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi Donna, I also use Audacity. Its probably something and nothing causing the buzzing.
I usually try the easiest things first. One that springs to mind is that if you are using a usb mic, then go to your audio options in your o/s and mute your mic input...Audacity sees usb mics as 'line in' inputs. Alternitivly I would tinker with the volume levels etc...maybe try another headset to rule out a fault.

Gary, thanks for dropping by here.  As it happens, I've managed to solve the problem (and with a lovely new AT2020 USB mic).
