When Jesus hung
upon the cross,
Dying for you and me,
With just one word
he could have ended his pain,
But he chose to set us free,
crying tenderly,

"My Father, in heaven,
forgive them, please,
they know not what they do,"
into thy hands I commit my spirit,
I've done all I can do,
my work on earth is through.........

When Nathan Hale
stood tall that day,
And scoffed the hanging tree,
He never dreamed
the words He'd say,
Would alter history,
And help to set men free,

"I only regret
that I have but one life,"
and only one life to give,
but if men must rule the things I love,
then I don't want to live,
this I won't forgive.............

Brave men, Brave words,
Must never be forgot,
For in what was said,
By the life they led,
Is a lesson to be taught,
A lesson to be sought.

"I only regret
that I have but one life,"
And only one life to give,
But if men must rule the things I love,
Then I don't want to live,

"My Father, in heaven,
forgive them, please,
They know not what they do,"....what they do.....
