Losing Paradise.
©- 1997-MFB III-Artwhimsically Yours Studio
For my mom who has passed on:
She was Jacqueline Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe As lovely as Garbo or Bridgitte Bardot
She was Mother Theresa a most gentle saint She became Clara Barton when I felt ill, or faint
As smart as Al Einstein as kind as St. Nick she was here 60 years but they went, oh, so quick
she could generate smiles she could bring me to tears many storms crossed my face as we weathered those years
she offered times shared some that I left unused visits missed, calls not made but she seldom accused
she loved without compromise she died all alone I'd give up all I cherish just to once go back home
to feel those sweet arms and those hugs that I've missed all the grief that I've lived with chased away with her kiss
If you still have a Mom and she's somewhere alone find a moment to call her take a day to go home
It will bring so much joy with so little in cost lest someday soon you join me here in paradise lost

That's a beautiful tribute to your mother. I'm very sorry for your loss. It's very heartwarming.

WOW, is THIS Ever a GOOD ONE, Amigo!!!
I lost my Mom when she was 65..to Cancer. I'm the same age, have just supposedly Beaten the Disease, & have had to reflect on what she went though more than a little.
I guess I'm less-guilt-ridden, because I held her hand as she passed-away. The Docs had shown us all the X-Rays..Mom's Cancer was throughout..there was no Alternative Option to passing-on..and Mom was a True "Fighter" but my Sis & I had the thankless job of convincing her it was "OK" to die. (All the rest of the Assembled Famuiy had gone to bed...it was 2AM.)
That hour waz significant...because she'd often told me that was the hour I was born. I'd also held my wife's hand, through the births of our 2 sons...and the feeling that swept over me as she passed that AM was one of "Don't Worry..the Cycle Starts All-Over Again, Somewhere-Else." I've been a pretty Firm Believer in Reincarnation ever since that evening.
That was My Mom's Last Gift to me...Looks like yours left behind a Pretty Talented Guy too! This is a Tribute Song to be Proud-of, and Your Love shines through every Beautiful Line of it. "KUDOS" Amigo...& don't pound yourself with a Guilt Trip..Mom's Always Understand!
Best Wishes & a Big Misted-Up Guy-Hug, Stan

Yes, very nice tribute and message. We do tend to take things for granted, and importantant hings get lost in our busy lives. This brings things back to what is really important.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

A wonderful song.
Even though I just dropped my son off at my mom's house it makes me want to call her, thank her and set up a date for lunch.
I think one of the best gifts a songwriter can give to the world is a call to action or effort to something, however small, that will enrich their lives. I think this song does just that and will make many, many people call their mothers...
