Pacific Opera Vocal Writing Prize Pacific Opera is committed to developing new talent and new music, and each year seeks out composers who have a gift of writing for the classically trained voice. In collaboration with The Fellowship of Australia Composers, Pacific Opera now invites entries for a composition of no longer than 12 minutes duration employing piano and solo voice, or piano and duet for two solo voices. The entry must be a new work which has not previously been performed, recorded, broadcast or published. A cash prize of $2,000 will be awarded to the winning entry. Other features of the prize include a performance of the winning work, a recording, broadcast and interview by 2MBS FM, and an article in Fine Music.
